World cruisers want their yachts to be seaworthy, comfortable, and capable of performing well in all conditions. In the case of the FH39, the yacht has to fit neatly into a standard shipping container that measures 8 by 40 feet. Yacht designer Bob Perry met those demands brilliantly. The FH39 is a motor sailer perfectly suited to a crusing couple. Perry used the available container space to produce a yacht interior that is bright, warm and functional. A relatively narrow beam produces a fast, strong, seaworthy boat (narrow boats are fast..think Six-Meters and Eight-Meters). The yacht's pilothouse means no more wet watches in cold spray and foul weather gear, no more sun-baked stints at the helm. And the boat ships with ease: packing the FH39 into a container is a standard boatyard operation.
