LA NAVAL Shipyard is currently involved in the design and production of the construction No. 340, a fallpipe and mining vessel, with high performances and unique in the market. The B340 is intended to locate medium size stones on the seabed through a guided pipe with a maximum depth of 1,700 meters. These stones, which in total may weigh up to a maximum of 32,000 tons, are transported on the ship in two large hoppers located on deck. The B340 aims to cover submarine cable or pipe lines, or fixing marine exploitation structures associated with gas and/or oil. LA NAVAL Shipyard delivered in 2010 a similar ship, the B333 "Simon Stevin", and has improved it making important changes to improve their final performance in the new B340.
