ARES-producing a highly finished aluminum mold surface, 5-axes
The Ares advanced materials machining system by CMS is an adaptable 5 axis CNC machining center. Its monobloc frame structure ensures rigidity, stability and accuracy for longevity and valuable service. Ares' frame also allows for quick and easy installation as it requires no special footings or foundations, just a minimum 4" thick level concrete floor on which to stand, resulting in excellent stability and accuracy.
The Ares 5 axis milling machine utilizes a mobile bridge which travels from side to side on rigid support beams at the front and back of its monobloc frame structure. Ares' B and C axes are equipped with an automatically inserted pneumatic braking system which locks the axis movement when either the B or C axis interpolated movement is not required. When so locked, the braking system results in a valuable 3-axis rigidity on a 5-axis system.
CMS prides itself on providing solutions, based on its many years of engineering experience and resources, which can meet the requirements of exacting industry standards for each particular customer. The Ares moving bridge can be supplied with a wide range of table options: Fixed Steel Table, Vacuum Table, Rotary Table, Pod and Rail Tables, or APC tables (Automatic Pallet Changing systems). Ares' various table styles means that an advanced materials machining system can be constructed to each customer's exact application requirements.
