Complementing the more conventional shaft seals that are still widely used in the industry, Clements Marine principally recommend a complete range of non-metallic self-aligning shaft seals designed and produced by Tides Marine Inc in the U.S.A.
This innovative seal has become widely used recently in the UK leisure boat design by a number of the large builders. These seals have many performance enhancing characteristics but specifically their dripless and wear free performance over a guaranteed 2000 hour, or two year operating life. The components are manufactured using non-metallic composite materials which are dimensionally un-affected by temperature changes and will not become damaged by water absorbtion.
