A versatile and efficient craft, capable of exceeding 17 knots fully loaded, with a pair of main engines developing less than 1000 hp each. Extended range permits voyages to installations far offshore. The configuration includes a large wood sheathed cargo deck aft, a main deck passenger / staff cabin accommodating over forty seated persons and a crew area including a fully fitted galley, mess area and cabins for 10 crew below decks forward. Variations of the original design at 30.5m in length have been developed to carry out numerous other roles, including fire boats and survey vessels.
