Cargo ship : oil tanker (shipyard)
NB 801 - NORDEN / 3000 DWT
Bodewes Shipyards B.V.
Oiltanker 2850 m3
In January 2006 Bodewes Shipyards will deliver M.T. NORDEN , the first oiltanker ever build in the long history of Bodewes shipyards.
The vessel is designed as a double hull oil tanker suitable for loading and discharging oil products with a flashpoint exceeding 60 C at a heated temperature up to 75 C.
The vessel is intended for bunker operations with two grades of fuel oil and with sailing area GMDSS A2.
Midships a cargo pump room is situated with two HFO - and two MDO/GO cargo pumps.
Two segregations with individual crossovers are arranged one for HFO and one for MDO cargo in the pump room. It is possible to both load and discharge HFO and also MDO/GO simultaneously. Internal transfer between the tanks of both HFO and MDO/GO is also possible.
The main propulsion plant consists of 2 main engines connected to a thruster unit with a fixed propeller in a nozzle with a thrust of 137 ton's each which can also act as rudders.
The bowthruster has a rated power of approx 300 KW, giving the ship excellent manoeuvre capabilities in port, which is preferable when mooring along ships or oil terminals. A blender installation is fitted om board, to blend IFO with a viscosity from 30-720 Cst.
Classification is done by Bureau Veritas, notation :
1+, Hull+, Mach. Boiler+, AUT-UMS, Oil tanker FP >60\' ESP,
Unrestricted navigation, Ice 1B, AVM-DPS
Flagstate is Swedisch
