super-structures for stability/buoyancy
during submersible operations. Hull form
and stern skeggs are specially designed to
give good course stability and increased
towing speed. All bollards, capstans and
manholes recessed, giving an absolute
flush deck.
The pontoon is divided into 27 water
ballast tanks and one watertight engine/
pump room, placed forward below main
deck, by means of 3 longitudinal (1 non
water tight) and 8 transverse bulkheads.
Each tank equipped with two manholes of
quick release type, remote sounding
system and remote controlled ballast/
deballast system. Separate pump room
also in pipe tunnel.
