Lets begin by listing it's various technical specifications:
Starting from the top, the mast is in carbon and measures 10 m. The radial mainsail with a wide head has a sail area of 20 sqm including the mast.
The x2 is equipeed with a mainsail and no jib, but an assimetric 20 sqm gennaker.
The rigging is in stainless steel and has 4 trapeze wires, the boat therefore can be sailed with both sailors on a trapeze simultaneously.
The gennaker hoisting and retrieval system consists of a closed circuit ‘funnel’ system (snuffer). Therefore with the same line the gennaker is easily hoisted and retrieved.
The x2 is 2.50 m. wide, and with the daggerboards lowered, draught is 1.70 m.
The overall weight of the boat ready to sail is just 135 kg.
Construction materials include aluminium for the beams, preimpregnated carbon for the mast, and carbon/epoxy for the rudders, daggerboards and the boom, while the hulls are made of vinylester with carbon reinforcements.
