River boats, supply vessels, tugs, fishing boats and research vessels are all ideal candidates for this rudder solution. This design reduces loads on the neck bearing and the rudder carrier. The SC type Becker Flap Rudder is a flap rudder without KSR support for smaller vessels, whose size do not require KSR support (e.g. smaller ferries, offshore vessels, etc.). Due to the extreme efficiency of the flap rudders we always recommend having our experienced engineers on board for manoeuvring training during sea trials.
