- 2.33m 7' 8"ft Arwen is available ready to row we don't make kits for this model. Arwen is built with high quality marine plywood in 6 mm for the planking, and 12 mm for the transom and all other structural parts. All masive wood is sapele or similar tropical wood, except the thwarts which are pine. Before finishing, all wood parts receive 3 coats of epoxy, and the bottom (sole and galboards) is fiberglassed in and out. Furthermore, anti-skid is apllied inside the top epoxy coating. UV-protection is achieved through 6 coats of polyurethane varnish. Five individual stripes of stainless steel under the skegs and keels protect the bottom. A hemp-imitating polypropylene rope (lightweight and UV-proof) is seized under the rubrail to offer protection from docks and fellow boats and dinghies.
Arwen is shipped with a pair of brass oarlocks (2 sets of oarlock sockets aes installed on the boat) and a pair of 6' varnished pine oars.
