Canal boat : trawler (flybridge)
DRIFTER 1500 TR
Aquanaut
- 14.95m
49' 1"ft
The Drifter Trawler is much more than just a beautiful enrichment to the extensive Aquanaut fleet. It is, in every respect something exceptional and as regards its appearance, it can only be described as a "ship"! The Trawler can attribute this apt description to a totally professional and robust "maritime feel" and everyone will want to be able to call themselves its "captain".
The design of the Drifter Trawler is based on the well tried AK series. The fully updated styling of the hull, side decks and superstructure give the Trawler its instantly recognisable look.
Even more classic, professional and individual than the Drifter AK. Of course the most eye catching feature of the Trawler is the front of the super-structure to which the boat owes its workmanlike appearance. This gives extra interior space but there are also other reasons for most working boats being fitted with forward sloping front windows. They reduce annoying glare from the sun shining on the instrument panel. They tend to remain drier in rainy weather, with less need to operate the wipers. All in all they provide the skipper with much improved visibility.
The side decks on one level alongside the superstructure provide obvious advantages when mooring up. The crew have easier access to the shore. The aft deck is still surprisingly large. Thanks to the thoughtful design of the aft cabin layout with a large bed in the middle and lockers underneath the side decks no space is lost.
