(ketch)
VICTORIA OF STRATHEARN

The 39.75m (130ft ) ketch Victoria of Strathearn began construction at Alloy Yachts in March 1999. The modern performance ketch built in traditional style has a beam of 7.7m (25.27ft), draws 3.9m (12.8ft) and displaces 151 tonnes. She is built to ABS X A1 Yachting Service, classification and complies with the code of practice for safety of large commercial sailing and motor vessels. Victoria of Strathearn was designed by naval architects Langan Design Associates, USA for a Scottish owner. The yacht has an aluminium hull painted Majestic Blue and is rigged with carbon fibre main and mizzen masts and in boom furling from Marten Spars of Auckland. The main mast is 48m tall. Varnished teak is used extensively on the cap rail, inner bulwarks, pilot house, crew scuttle, winch plinth and cockpit coaming. Stainless steel dorades are a feature of the deck layout. A large skylight provides light to the saloon below. The interior, designed by Andrew Winch Designs of UK, has walnut panelling and furniture. She has painted grooved, beamed deck heads. The ketch has a traditional pilothouse with stairs leading aft to the owner's cabin, study and ensuite. Another set of stairs from the pilothouse leads forward to the saloon. From the saloon the main passageway forward leads to the two guest suites, galley and crew mess and crew accommodation for six.
