The largest motoryacht to be built at Alloy Yachts went into production in July 2001 and was launched on 8 February 2003. S.Q.N. (Sine Qua Non; simply indispensable) was designed by Dubois Naval Architects with a Don Starkey Design interior and was built for Gary Lane, the Chairman of Alloy Yachts. > S.Q.N has an aluminium hull and superstructure and will be 39m (128ft) overall with a 8.5m (27.8ft) beam. Her main accommodation on the lower deck has two double guest cabins, one twin cabin and a gymnasium, all with ensuites. The gymnasium is designed to be converted to a cabin if required in the future. Forward are a Captain's cabin, two double crew cabins, galley, crew mess and separate laundry. The engine room aft houses two Caterpillar 3412 engines, each 1400hp at 2300 rpm. Two Northern Lights 60 kva generators will be fitted together with a 60 kw Atlas shore power converter. The 5.3m tender is stored behind the engine room with side door access to the water on the port side.
