The Pioneer Mk3 is a commercial passenger carrying hovercraft, capacity 22+ passengers (or 2.2 tons)plus 1-2 crew. This design is a continuation of the well proven Surveyor and Pioneer 1060 series of which there are examples today still working regularly after more than 20 years service.
The first Pioneer Mk3 currently under construction for a Western Australia tour operator and due for launching in September 2007.
The Pioneer Mk3 cruises fully loaded at 35 knots in most conditions. The top speed depends upon surface conditions with very high speeds over ice and sand flats.
Ample power is provided by a single Caterpillar diesel of 245kW. Mechanical components are conservatively rated and available worldwide.
Built to Australian Survey class 1C and capable of classification with all major organisations.
