The Aeronaut Elektron Laser ZX family of plotter cutters are high-powered water-cooled lasers intended for cutting and edge sealing industrial textiles. The Elektron Laser ZXs are a heavy-duty production machines using compact gantry mounted lasers to give rapid acceleration with cut speeds in excess of 1 metre per second. The short beam path and minimal optics give very efficient cutting, easy setup and low maintenance. The lightweight dual-gantry chassis of the Elektron Laser ZX can carry a range of lasers, with power outputs to suit any application. Big performance at a very reasonable price.
Over the years, many customers have requested a combined blade cutter and laser cutter working on the same table. The Elektron Laser ZX Duo version is that machine. It is fitted with an Elekron Mono quick-change Cam-lock style blade holder built right into the same head, right beside the laser. The external appearance of both types of machines is identical. And because it's an Aeronaut machine, change-over between blade and laser setups is around a minute.
The fume shroud and lens assemblies are both located with quick-change mechanisms and can be removed and replaced in a very short time... well under a minute. So whether it is lens cleaning or fitting a rotary blade holder to convert from laser to blade cutting, you won't be wasting much time. So now you can get the best use of your cutting table and fit a rotary blade cutter to work with materials which are not suited to laser cutting, or fit a creasing tool for use in combination with laser cutting.
Vacuum tables can be built with quick-change cutting surfaces, or with dual zones suitable for laser or blade cutting. Since there is no contact with the fabric with lasers, cutting is fast and very reliable. Cut patterns release cleanly. Nesting margins can be less than a millimetre. The result is big cost savings in time and fabric. Laser power can be accurately controlled for marking, perforating or kiss cutting.
Since the Elektron Laser ZX machines are built on the same principles as all Aeronaut machines, you can expect the same low maintenance and easy servicing. In fact, a great deal of thought has gone into making these machines easy to service. For example, you can remove the entire Y axis motor assembly for servicing by undoing just one bolt. The running costs of "all metal" CO2 lasers are traditionally very low with around 45,000 hours before the tube needs a low cost re-gas.
