The designations, Reefer I and Reefer II refer to the method of raising and lowering the sail, not the size or the model. The Reefer I uses an internal halyad that boat cleats off at the furling drum to raise the sail. Ther Reefer II uses a locking halyard system. The boat's jib halyards is used to raise a cam activator and the sail which locks at the top of the luff extrusion. Once the sail is up the halyard and cam activator ard removed and stored away from the system.

The special grade cast aluminium housing is treated against corrosion by an oven baked paint for boat finish. All stainless steel parts are insulated from the aluminium housing with insulation bushings.
The very fine tolerances of the gears and transmission assemblies produces very quiet operation. The gearbox is lubricated for life in an oil bath and requires no maintenance.

| With the electric EF 90 reefing systems, trend-setting design and peak efficiency are combined in an overall high-capacity system. They are designed for yachts of approx. 36-70 foot in length and for wire forestays from 8 to 16 mm in diameter (alternatively rods -12 to -76). A newly developed gear technology and sophisticated bearing technology lend the smooth running EF 90 an unprecedented functionality. With respect to construction, the self-braking worm gear is nearly maintenance free. |

Furlex goes electric!
Two versions: original marine equipment and upgrade kit
Furling the sail at the touch of a button can rightly be considered the height of comfort and convenience.
Now, with the Furlex 200E and 300E, Seldén is offering the luxury of push-button sailing. The Furlex Electric is intended for boats with a forestay diameter of 6 - 10 mm, i.e. yachts of about 30 ft and over.
Owners with a manual Furlex 200S or 300S system can upgrade to electric power. The through-deck components for the cables, and the electric control box are all included in the upgrade kit.
Furlex Electric is built with a 12V or 24V marine electric motor. The motor uses only 30A at normal loadings. And since it takes only 30 seconds from pushing the button to fully reefed sail, power consumption is negligible.
In order to counteract overloading, the system comes with a built-in overload cut-out. The overload cut-out is automatically reactivated a few seconds after the In or Out buttons are released. In the event of a loss of power arising from a failure in other equipment, the sail can be reefed manually.

On small boats, often fractionally rigged, it is usually difficult to achieve reasonable head stay tension for headsail furling systems. Headsail systems with a halyard swivel are not advantageous because the swivel tends to be pulled transversely (not in line with the forestay) by a combination of loads from the halyard and the head of the sail. This combined on a flexible foil may cause the system to jam.

Like all the KARVER K-Furlers, the KF1 is maintenance free and protected by a special anodizing with Teflon impregnation.
No pins or small parts to lose.
Technical details of the KF1:
Total weight = 374 g
Safe working load = 1.5 T
Height (drum+swivel) = 97 mm |

An elastic impact resistant plastic cover encloses the spool. In event of an impact it resists all permanent deformation that may restrict or interfere with the system ability to rotate.
KARVER K-Furlers have a notch on the spool allowing fitting or removal of the loop line without removing the line cover or dismounting the system.
EXCLUSIVE ADVANTAGES OF KARVER K-FURLERS
- Eliminates the need to remove the cover and avoids the risk of losing small parts.
- Keeps the mechanism closer to the deck by avoiding the necessary displacement required for removable sailboat covers.
- The loop line is simply and quickly engaged or removed from the spool through the notch.
- Increases available luff length by minimizing the height of the spool and tack fitting.
KARVER K-Furlers are available for safe working loads going from 0.75 to 12 T.

The push-button controls in the cockpit give you complete command of your mainsail. You can also trim the outhaul when sailing close hauled - a task which would ordinarily require the full strength of a crew member using a manual marine winch. Furthermore, there is no clew outhaul line to clutter up the cockpit.

| The RF90 is a hydraulic high performance reefing system for foresails built to be virtually maintenance free and with superior gear technology these systems offer maximum performance and longevity. The integration of spiral-mesh gearing, sophisticated bearing design and a self-braking worm gear, result in a quiet and smooth running system, which meet the highest industry standards. |

Designed to reef or furl your mainsail, the PROFURL in-boom system provides safe reefing for your mainsail from the cockpit. The main halyard and the reefing line can also be operated from the cockpit.
Hoisting the mainsail is made easy: just turn the boat into the wind, release the furling line and pull on the halyard.
Reefing or furling is just as easy: simply control the tension on the halyard and pull the furling line.
Thanks to a number of patented design features, controlling your mainsail is a smooth operation. |

Wonder Furl, the roller furling system by Nemo Industries
Safety and comfort on board
Safety on board for boat is extremely important and when there is a valid help navigation is certainly more relaxed. The reliable “WONDERFURL” is a jib-furler designed by Nemo which allows you to adjust your genoa from the cockpit easily and safely.
Sudden wind changes will not be a problem, even strong winds, since it will not be necessary to undertake dangerous operations on the foredeck, or change sail, but simply to reduce it by pulling on the furling line; for example, in just 4 seconds an 80 square metre genoa can be fully reefed.
Furthermore no maintenance or lubrification is necessary, except an occasional wash in fresh water. |

The Furlex jib furling and reefing System was first introduced in 1983. The basic concept was not new, but Furlex broke new ground with innovative design, attention to detail, good value and Worldwide service backup. Today, Furlex is the world market leader, and a normal feature on any well equipped yacht.
Furlex, with its attractive combination of aluminium, composite and stainless steel, adds more than a touch of style to any yacht. The smooth lines are not only pleasing to the eye, they also make Furlex very durable and easyon the sail and on the sailor. |

In designing the Flexible Furler, we focused on the vast majority of sailors who are primarily cruisers or daysailors. They might race but only casually. These sailors have boats under 40 feet long and want to enjoy sailing from the cockpit rather than going forward while underway. They want the reliability of a solidly built furler/reefing system backed by an unbelievably comprehensive warranty and yet do not want to spend a lot of time and money buying or maintaining their marine equipment.
The Flexible Furler is used on daysailers as well as offshore passage makers, monohulls and multihulls. It is used by production boat builders and is also great as a retrofit. The flexible luff extrusion makes it the best choice for trailerables.

| Compact dimensions, lightweight and reliability are the key features for any marine high performance product. Besides those qualities, obtained by a careful design and engineering, the use of the best materials and construction techniques, CARITEC hydraulic jib furlers have the exclusive integrated stay tension-ram: this hydraulic continuous fine tune, conceived and improved by Cariboni since 1995, is essential when the mast for boats has angled spreaders. The tension tuning is made without any movement of the furler body, just the stay rod moves inside the system driven by the piston during navigational. For a complete rig setting a turnbuckle system allows a mechanical adjustment independent from the hydraulic tuning. Also no hydraulic tension-ram models are available. For a complete supply, aluminium and carbon fiber foils are available. |

Flexible Furler vs. Reefer: Flexible Furlers feature a one-piece plastic luff extrusion (vs. the Reefer's aluminum luff sections). CDI has been producing the Flexible Fuler since 1989.
Identifying your Flexible Furler : Simply measure the diameter of the "cup" (the part around the spool which keeps the furling line from falling off).
There are a few Flexible Furlers that have a continuous line drive rather than a spool. To identiy these by size, measure the width and thickness of your luff extrusion.
Product Changes: From 1989 to 1992, the Flexible Furler "cup" was made of aluminum. Aluminum cups had a small hole where the furling line exits the spool. From 1992 to 1994, the cups were made of black plastic. From 1994 onward, stainless steel cups have been used. They have a large "picture window" exit hole for the furling line.
