THE RONDAR CADET
Rondar Raceboats have recently developed this new version in association with the Class.
The glassfibre version comes from a production line that specialises in building quality craft capable of winning World Championships and offers many new features.
It is substantially lighter than many alternatives, improving performance, and handling onshore. It is also strong, with a solid structure to support the rig loads.
All our craft are comprehensively fitted out to a standard racing specification. This includes vacuum testing for the buoyancy tanks.
Since its introduction during 1996 the new Rondar Cadet has been in great demand by sailors, with numerous winning results in sailing and selection trials. Unlike wooden versions, the Rondar Cadet is virtually maintenance free.
SPECIFICATION
Our Regatta model is built for long racing performance over many seasons. It is supplied close to the minimum weight specified by the Class.
The boat is fitted out with a fittings and layout package, developed from our experience with leading sailors in the fleet.
A variety of spars and sails can be supplied to suit personal preferences.
Top quality foils and Rondar aluminium stocks are fitted as standard. Sails, covers and trailer are extras to the boat specification.
Prior to delivery, all craft undertake a comprehensive quality control check, including certification of buoyancy and measurement. |

The successor to the Optimist …
A twin dinghy for junior helmsmen …
L'EQUIPE, the leading sports daily, and Marc LAURENT, French national sailing coach, came up with the best possible answer to the FFVoile Federation's needs with a dinghy that brings together all the qualities required for young helmsmen in the 77 to 110-pound bracket, whether twin-sailing or as main oarsman.
Marc LAURENT, 470 world champion in 1975 and selected for the Montreal Olympic Games, is responsible for the design and finishing of the EQUIPE dinghy, aided and abetted by members of the French national Flying Dutchman team. The EQUIPE is a scaled-down version of the Flying Dutchman, the formula 1 of sailing, and is aimed principally at young regatta entrants. With this in mind, the EQUIPE has two main faces: steady and simple to use for learners, but suitably sharp and speedy across the water for regattas.
The EQUIPE bears many of the hallmarks of its predecessor :
- the genny makes the oarsman position more demanding and therefore interesting,
- the double bunt for the oarsman leaves a clear space that can be quickly and easily adapted,
- the spinnaker snuffer makes handling easier and more tactically diverse. |

CHARACTERISTICS
The 420 offers performance, strength and a higher degree of safety than many other Classes. Buoyancy tanks are vacuum tested, and sealed expanded foam will keep the craft afloat, even if holed. The rig is easily manageable in the strongest of wind conditions and performance is boosted with the addition of a trapeze and spinnaker. With an all up weight of just 100 kilos the 420 can be towed or carried on a roof rack.
THE RONDAR 420
Rondar Boats have been the ISAF Licensed 420 Builder in the UK since 1973 and over 3000 boats have been built for customers in the UK, Europe and around the world. Our model has been particularly successful because of the Rondar policy of continuous quality improvement. Rondar were one of the first builders to develop vacuum testing on all buoyancy tanks, ensuring the highest safety standards.
SPECIFICATION
A choice of two specifications are available to best suit your requirment. Our Regatta model is built to optimise the racing performance. The College version (white hull, white deck) is strengthened to offer many years of hard sailing that are given to the boats by sailing schools and education authorities. All hulls are measured by an independent RYA measurer before leaving the factory. |

Laser Racing: You, the elements and the best events in the world.
With literally thousands of event across the UK and the World, the Laser offers everything from an introduction to racing for the first timer to a full program of challenging events for the professional sailor.
Laser Club Programme
Hundreds of sailing clubs offer a Laser racing programme. Most clubs race at weekends (two to three 45 minute/1 hour races) with the season starting in spring and running until the end of autumn. During the summer many clubs also organise midweek evening racing. Winter sailing is growing in popularity and many clubs organise a winter programme.
Laser club sailing is enjoyed by thousands of 'weekend' sailors who keep their Laser at the club just a few metres from the water. It's a convenient option and with rigging taking a matter of minutes, means that Laser sailing can be enjoyed by those with limited free time. Venues vary from picturesque rivers and lakes to estuaries and the open sea. Sailing clubs range from small and voluntarily run clubs to professionally managed clubs with full facilities. Details of Laser clubs can be obtained from the Class Association web sites for each country. For contact details see the Links page.

Laser Radial provides the unique opportunity of sailing the World's favourite Olympic single hander to lightweight, youth and female sailors.
The Laser Radial was initially chosen by ISAF (the Governing Authority of sailing) as the women’s youth class for all events up to 2006. In November 2004 the Laser Radial was confirmed as the new Olympic ladies single hander replacing the Europe. This comes into effect for Beijing 2008.

Laser 4.7 provides the unique opportunity of sailing the World's favourite Olympic single hander. The Laser 4.7 is for young sailors graduating from the Optimist.
Based upon the same hull and equipment, the Laser 4.7 has a 33% smaller sail than the standard Laser and 18% smaller than the Radial. The 4.7m2 sail is matched to a shorter pre-bent lower mast to provide easily controlled power and gust response is managed by automatic power blading of the rig. This makes the 4.7 rig manageable for the smaller sailors with less strength and body mass.

CHARACTERISTICS
Tactically demanding, the 505 excels in all weather conditions and has become a favourite with top helmsmen around the world. Although a large an powerful dinghy, the 505 is stable and forgiving. The wide decks make it one of the most comfortable craft to sail, with good all round visibility. The forward hull form and wide forward flare ensure that it rarely drops its nose into a wave and the 505 has rightly gained the distinction of probably being the best sailing craft for its size in all weather conditions. The spinnaker, launched from a forward tube, boosts performance, offering dazzling rides down the reaches. However this craft requires a high degree of handling competence and tactical ability to achieve winning performance.
THE RONDAR MODEL
Rondar Boats have been building the 505 dinghy for over 25 years and are now the predominant builder. Many innovative improvements to both design and construction have been introduced through our policy of product development. Our standard boat is now well proven, having finished 1st and 2nd overall in the 1993 World Championship. Rondar boats also won the 1993 Europa Cup and every European National Championship.
SPECIFICATION
Many variations are possible to the standard layout as each boat is built to your specific requirements. All are fitted out to the highest quality using the best racing equipment available. A comprehensive choice of spars, sails and equipment enable our customers to refine and personalise their craft. Any colour scheme is available. |

It is such a relief to sail a keelboat where one can be entirely independent of marinas, lifts and four wheel drive vehicles! The whole launching process is a straightforward two man job.” Mark Rushall. Yachts & Yachting Boat Test
Glenn Bourke - 3 time Laser World Champion:
"In my opinion the Laser SB3 is simply the best small keelboat money can buy. They are good in light airs or a howling blow, they are tactical upwind and down which makes for good racing and, once you launch the masthead spinny then get ready for some blasting downwind action. But what really help set this one design apart from all the others is how easy they are - Easy to find crew, with only three necessary, easy to rig, easy to tow and best of all, easy on the pocket.
