A hydraulic boom vang from Holmatro provides maximum boom control while sailing and when moored. It makes reefing and flaking of your mainsail easy as it also acts as a topping lift. A variety of control panels are available for easy adjustment. In combination with our quick release the vang can be dumped instantly. Advanced design techniques and materials keep weight to a minimum.

A Seldén Rodkicker facilitates sail handling when reefing, preventing the boom from dropping into the cockpit or onto the coach roof. When fitted with a Seldén fas spring, it lifts the boom when the kicking strap is released.
Excellent for trimming the main in light air. The Seldén Rodkicker also doubles the purchase of your kicking strap.

Hall Spars & Rigging's QuikVang is the original high-performance solid vang. It's simple, easy to instal, easy to use, and it lasts. As Pracitcal Sailor magazine wrote "[the QuikVang] was designed right in the beginning." That's why you'll see QuikVangs still performing after years on the water. Hall Spars & Rigging introduced the original QuikVang in 1986. The QuikVang is a mechanical van that relies on the simplicity of an inner stainless steel spring and external purchase. More than 20 years later, the original vang is the standard by which all mechanical vangs are measured.

The "Telescopicvang" is a compact, mechanical system which replaces the classic vang, and topping lift features. The Telescopicvang body already possesses an internal reduction between 3:1 and 5:1 depending on the model. In conjunction with an external tackle, it provides even more power, with a relation up to 40:1, making it an economical and viable alternative to hydraulic systems.
The stainless steel spring allows for the boom to be positioned at the ideal height substituting the topping lift. This facilitates the reefing maneuvers, eliminating the need for an additional operation. The Telescopicvang is made of aluminum hard anodized and teflonized. It is available in four sizes for boats between 8 to 16 meters (24 and 55 feet).
The hardware for mounting the vang on the boom and mast, as well the external tackles, is sold separately (see tackles on page 52 and 53).
