TechnologiesThere are several different types of davit. Rotary models may not be used for launching lifeboats. Pivoting versions have an arm which moves up and down. Gravity types use the weight of the small craft to lower it into the water. Telescopic models have two extending arms that lift the boat outboard of the rail before launching it.
