The 12.5L six-cylinder engine is offered as either a propulsion or gen drive engine in either keel cooled or heat exchanger configurations. The engines are either turbocharged, non-aftercooled, turbocharged with jacket water aftercooling or turbocharged with sea water aftercooling. Volvo Penta's 6-cylinder D6-370 is developed from the latest design in modern diesel technology.
The engine has common rail fuel injection system, double overhead camshafts, 4 valves per cylinder, turbocharger, compressor, and aftercooler. The interaction of these, the large swept volume, and the EVC system results in exceptional diesel performance combined with low emissions.
The D6-370/DPR is suitable for both single and twin engine installations in speeds above 47 knots.

With it¹s up to 500 hp, 450kg, compact dimensions, this monster of the diesel world has the appearance that will make all other high performance engines look old and tired. This is the most powerful looking and performing diesel on the market. Engines are standard equipped with freshwater cooling.
