The Youyou: for those who seek an old fashioned tender, just like those we used to see on the deck of yesterday's yachts. This lovely little clinker hull makes an excellent starter in boat building, thanks to the patented "Lapstitch™" technique, an evolution of the classic "stitch and glue" method. The hull is built on two sawhorses, without any "building jig".

Arwen is available ready to row we don't make kits for this model. Arwen is built with high quality marine plywood in 6 mm for the planking, and 12 mm for the transom and all other structural parts. All masive wood is sapele or similar tropical wood, except the thwarts which are pine. Before finishing, all wood parts receive 3 coats of epoxy, and the bottom (sole and galboards) is fiberglassed in and out. Furthermore, anti-skid is apllied inside the top epoxy coating. UV-protection is achieved through 6 coats of polyurethane varnish. Five individual stripes of stainless steel under the skegs and keels protect the bottom. A hemp-imitating polypropylene rope (lightweight and UV-proof) is seized under the rubrail to offer protection from docks and fellow boats and dinghies.
Arwen is shipped with a pair of brass oarlocks (2 sets of oarlock sockets aes installed on the boat) and a pair of 6' varnished pine oars.

The Eastport Pram: a lovely little pram whose kit makes an ideal first building project, thanks to the "Lapstitch™" patented system. A standing lug rig turns the tender into a small sailing dinghy for teaching your young sailors or messing about when the large boat is lying at anchor.
The Eastport Pram is available as a building kit or ready to row/sail. The kit contains everything needed to build the pram. You add just the paint and varnish. Building this kit is easy, all you'll need is a bit (a lot!) of patience and neatness to build this lovely "stitch and glue" hull.
At last a building kit for a tender featuring solid stability, good performance under oar, a practical sailing rig and lovely lines. The Eastport Pram's deep rocker helps to minimize wetted surface and to keep the transoms from dragging. The result is a small boat that is as satisfying to row as possible in such a short waterline. Just like our Arwen, two rowing positions let you distribute the load to keep the hull flat on the water to optimize comfort and performance.

A dory is a lot a boat for the money, which explains the enduring popularity of this type of boat since more than 150 years. The origin of the dory as a work boat explains the simplicity of its construction, justified by its low cost. The narrow bottom yields a hull that is fast under oar or sail, and the flaring sides provide ample stability, as soon as the boat is loaded or heeled. The carrying capacity of the dory hull was legendary et this one is no exception with a maximum loaded displacement of 260 kg.

The Tyee Spirit 14 Fishing rowboat originates from Campbell River, on the east coast of Vancouver Island. Every summer a large run of Chinook Salmon return to the river to spawn. Those fish that have matured to over 30 lbs are called “Tyee” salmon
About 1910 Ned Painter, a local boatbuilder, began turning out beautiful lapstrake cedar planked rowboats 14’ in length and 4’2” in beam. These became very popular with sport fishermen. Painter’s rowboats were renowned for the way they carried a load and comfortably handled the choppy tidal waters around Campbell River
Flotillas of rowboats still ply the river mouth, a guide at the oars and one or two sport fishermen holding their rods anticipating a strike..
The Tyee Spirit best suits those that require a fishing boat with a little more space and room for more gear. . A small outboard can be mounted on the transom.
These attractive boats are built to impeccable standards with a lapstrake style fiberglas hull, solid teak woodwork and bronze fittings. They will handle serious usage for generations. The Tyee Spirit 14 has recieved great acceptance in both North America and Europe as a traditional rowboat, slide seat sculling boat and/or sailing dinghy.
