| alsaMarine panels for boats have been tested in the Laboratories of Technique du Bois in France, and it is worth noting that the resistance to deflection, or elasticity, is comparable to Okoume plywood, and even greater in the transverse direction. In addition, despite the low density, hardness is equal to about 50% compared to plywood BalsaMarine Panels, with an end grain balsa core, have been developed to provide the user with a strong, lightweight structural panel. Our Composite Panels are 4' x 8' in size and can be produced in-house with a variety of decorative veneers: Teak, Cherry, Afromosia, Maple, Teak & Holly etc. |

Hexcel manufactures a complete line of HexForceTM woven and non-crimp fabrics from carbon fiber. The range includes traditional fabrics (3K, 6K, 12K, 24K), flat-tow 12K and heatset-unit fabrics, plus non-crimp, multiaxial reinforcements.
Hexcel's carbon fabrics meet the specification requriements of BMS 9-8 as well as other major aerospace manufacturers' specifications for carbon fabric. These fabrics use fibers that are produced under stringently controlled conditions, extensive testing and documentation.
Our commercial carbon fabrics utilise many of the same carbon fibers that have been produced with less extensive testing and documentation. Standard Modulus carbon fiber, supplied to the commercial market, yields typical property values of 530KSI (GPA) for tensile strength and 34 MSI for tensile modulus. Higher performance carbon fabrics with increased tensile and modulus properties are available from Hexcel for special applications.

The origin of the inflatable boat is military, but, for the last 50 years, its development is primarily situated in leisure and professional boating. This evolution has been possible due to the improvement of materials and inflatable boat design.
Coated fabrics have known some spectacular perfectioning, from cotton, a natural fiber, to synthetic fibers of high durability, such as polyamide or polyester.
The coating which protects the textile and assures the air-tightness has equally known large revolutions, passing from natural rubber, sensitive to aging, to synthetic Neoprene and Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene (CSM) rubber; incontestably the most resistant product used in the profession today.
PENNEL & FLIPO has not only followed the progress, but for the last 40 years has provoked it and occupied the position as leader in the production of fabrics destined for the inflatable. The result has been obtained by the ideology, which relies on three principles:
QUALITY
RELIABILITY
DURABILITY
