CAMINO-101 AIS is focusing on its mobility and compatibility with other navigational system. With every function available as the CAMINO-201, CAMINO-101 is designed to compliment and to enhance the safety aspect of other navigational system. While the Class B CAMINO-101 AIS is primarily designed as a Class A AIS to transmit and receive navigational and safety related information from and to AIS equipped ships in the surrounding sea, it does not have the same complications and restrictions as a Class A AIS.

The GEONAV RO 4700 offers the DSC (Digital Selective Calling) standard function: the pressure of the DISTRESS key immediately broadcasts the distress call, providing your boat's ID, the position and nature of danger. The backlit display shows the acknowledge signals coming from the nearest vessels and from land.
Besides ATIS channels, the GEONAV RO 4700 supports 55 INT channels that allow communicating confidentially and transmitting selective calls to one or more boats: you just have to know the MMSI number of the boats to contact and to send a message specifying the transmission channel you want. Only the selected boat will answer your call.
