The SeaVieweR S.277 Dual AIS/GPS Receiver from SevenStar works with chart plotters and charting software for laptops and PDAs, and shows 'contacts' and their ID and course on the plotter display. You can see who else is within your vicinity, even if they are behind another object! (Headland, island, ship...)
The SeaVieweR receives AIS data on both AIS channels SIMULTANEOUSLY utilising 2 totally independent, synthesised VHF receivers and highly sophisticated digital signal processing. (Cheaper - and some dearer - receivers only monitor one channel at a time – so with them you can miss vessel data altogether or at best take twice as long to receive it!)
And uniquely, if you decide a little while later that you want to get the full benefits of AIS, we can upgrade the SeaVieweR into a full Class B AIS Transponder so you will be seen on other vessels plotter screens!

The SeaTraceR AIS B Transponder from SevenStar was one of the first to be designed following the release of the IEC- 62287-1 specification. It utilises the most sophisticated digital signal processing and software algorithms to implement the required CS-TDMA transmitter and receiver functions. Robust and resilient to the stresses of life at sea, the SeaTraceR is housed in an IP-65 rated aluminium enclosure with matching and versatile mounting hardware, all of which is protected with a sea-water resistant coating under a heavy-duty powder-coat external finish.
Combined with a chart plotter or AIS-enabled radar set, it takes their performance into the next generation - once you've seen it in action, you won't believe you could have sailed without it!

Designed to meet or exceed current specifications from IMO, IEC and IALA.
TR-2600 with its dedicated Base Station Controller (BSC) can operate as a stand-alone unit, or together with a standby unit in a hot standby configuration.
If configured, the standby unit will automatically continue operation if the main unit fails, or is disabled for maintenance purposes.
TR-2600 can easily be interfaced to customised coastal surveillance systems, combining radar and AIS surveillance. All configurations can be done via the 10Base-T Ethernet interface or via a RS-422/232 serial line.
All data received and transmitted as output to a configurable unicast IP address and/or as a broadcast message, in this way the data can be used locally on a LAN or filtered to be available on a wider network.

The data link communication covering identity, position, destination and other required static, voyage-related and dynamic data gives all vessels in an area increased situational awareness and improves safety at sea for the individual ship. Positive identification and positioning of all ships in the vicinity reduce the unnecessary ship on my port bow calls. Less information overload greatly enhances safety at sea.
Features
The SOTDMA technology used in the AIS transponder transmits and receives information on all vessels within VHF coverage. This information includes position, identity, course over ground, heading, and rate of turn as well as navigational status and the destination of the ship. The information received from, and provided to, the ships is easily plotted on any ARPA radar or electronic chart system. This gives the Officer of the Watch a situational awareness that could never be achieved prior to AIS. Information on draught, type of cargo and destination could also be used to make decisions related to manoeuvring. The screen presentation of the call signs of other ships enables a ship to make direct contact with conflicting vessels by text messaging or voice communication. Maximum awareness is always accomplished.
