Anchor chain stoppers are installed on board the vessel between windlass and a hawse pipe. When ship is anchored full chain load is taken over by chain stopper. According to the Classification Society rules chain stoppers have a holding force equal to 80% of a chain breaking load. During lowering/weighing of an anchor chain stopper locking is lifted what grants safe chain paying out/hauling in.
Towimor SA offers the following chain stoppers types:
- roller type chain stoppers SL
- roller type adjustable stoppers SL-S
- jaw type stoppers SSL
- pawl type chain stoppers - SZL

The product-group of winches represent a full scalar of winches suitable for incorporating in your davit system.
The winches can be supplied with a smooth single drum, a single two section drum or two drums (one on either side) and are, as standard, designed to meet the speeds and loads resulting from double-falls reeving.
The winches are normaly deck-mounted and are full accordance with the present SOLAS-rules

The winches are driven by electric motors through three stage gear. Mooring drums can be of split or unsplit type, they are disconnectable and equipped with band brakes manually or hydraulically controlled. Depending on type of a hawser drums are of split or unsplit type and their capacity is adapted to length and diameter of hawser.
Cable lifters are disconnectable and equipped with band brakes manually or hydraulically controlled.
As a standard electrically driven winches are delivered with local control.
In order to meet the requirements of Owner's and Shipyard specification machinery can be equipped with :
- self tensionng operation mode with two or three automatic steps
- two or three remote control stands
- radio remote control
- control box for one man clutching
- warping ends
- additional mooring drums
- stainless brake drums
- digital indicators of anchor chain length and speed
- remote anchor dropping - controlled from a wheelhouse or controller
Extreme operational conditions :
- ambient temperature -25° C ÷ + 45 ° C
- ship heel 15 °
- ship trim 5 °

Metso offers a wide range of mooring winches with almost unlimited line pulls and speeds. Although their primary use is aboard ship, their application for onshore or permanent installations is limitless.
The mooring winch operate as effectively at mooring a ship or barge from shore as they do from the ship, and can perform functions such as shifting, holding and positioning for loading and unloading, while at the same time compensating for variations in draft with the constant tensioning feature.
Shore installations for barge loading or unloading is a natural application for a constant tensioning feature.

Quick release hook mainly consists of two parts: the capstan system and the hook. It is usually used on the dock in-stead of original bollard in order to make the cable release quickly and safely in some emergency case. While operating, the operator just needs to open the lock device with a pole, the hook can be released immediately.

The winches of the heavy series have a particularly strong structure and they find employment in various sectors. Both in terrestrial use for general lifting, and in marine applications as auxiliary winches on ferries or tugs, with line pull up to 50.000 kgs. Special versions have been produced for specific demands in the military sector: winches in Stainless steel with low magnetism.
