VIKING's unique direct boarding liferaft concept is the ideal solution for vessels with deck heights too low for traditional mass evacuation systems
Evacuation without the problem of unwanted movement
The rectangular shape of the high capacity liferafts means they can moored alongside the vessel, thus reducing the problem of unwanted movement during evacuation. Evacuees access the high capacity liferafts directly from the embarkation station or deck.
Suits all vessel capacities
Total evacuation capacity is increased simply by adding more liferafts to the vessel. They can be stored on racks in remote areas and individually remotely released from the embarkation station. The liferaft can be pulled to the evacuation point manually or by using a bowsing winch.

Throw overboard liferafts are designed to be used as independent units or as part of evacuation systems. They can be stored almost anywhere on racks and ramps, saving valuable deck space and causing minimal disruption to sea views which is important for passenger ships.
Liferafts are packed in sturdy containers with a special VIKING sealing method that makes them especially durable, resistant to water ingress and makes them faster and easier to service.
Standard rafts are available in sizes:
6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25 and persons.
Self-righting rafts are available in sizes:
25, 51, 101 and 151 persons.

The RFD Marin-Ark marine evacuation system provides the most advanced way of evacuating passengers and crew from all types of passenger vessels in an emergency.
Evacuees transfer quickly and safely from the ship directly into the liferaft without exposure to the weather. The innovative RFD Marin-Ark was the first evacuation system in the world to fully comply with the latest International Maritime Organisation (IMO)/SOLAS Chapter III regulations governing safety on board passenger vessels.

VIKING's Evacuation MiniChute system is designed especially
for small and medium sized vessels
The VEMC design is based on the effective design of the full size VIKING Evacuation Chute (VEC). The system is lightweight and compact, and is fully contained in the stowage unit for installation almost anywhere on board.
Flexible capacity
The system contains a 101 person self-righting liferaft. Capacity can be increased by attaching additional throw overboard liferafts.
The fully enclosed Kevlar lined chute is fire retardent and protects evacuees from severe weather conditions during descent and compensates for ship and sea movement during evacuation for safe transfer into the system liferafts. The stowage unit can be easily unbolted and lifted from the vessel for servicing.

VIKING's evacuation chute systems are the ideal solution for high sided passenger vessels
High capacity passenger vessels need evacuation systems that deploy quickly and easily and provide fast, safe evacuation of all on board within 30 minutes.
The fully enclosed Kevlar lined chute is fire retardent and protects evacuees from severe weather conditions during descent and compensates for ship and sea movement during evacuation for safe transfer into the system liferafts.
VIKING systems are compact and discreet, requiring minimum deck space
Chute systems are specially designed to maximise deck space and sea view during storage. The VEC can be installed anywhere on board; on open deck, between decks in an open recess or built into the ship's side. Additional liferafts can be stored in remote locations and released by pump at the evacuation point. The compact nature allows for fast and easy removal for servicing.
