The XE model includes a hydrodynamic composite rudder and easy-access day hatch. |

| Laguna, a super-light single touring kayak in carbon-aramide or GFK. Based on the Yukon shape, the Laguna is primarily suited for smaller and medium rivers and lakes. The keel is not as pronounced as on the longer touring kayaks, which gives the Laguna greater agility. Even slight impacts on the edges noticeably reduce the curve radius. So it is a lot of fun to maneuver the Laguna around tights bends. The weight of the carbon boat is approx. 18.5 kg. The handling of this lightweight is easy, loading on and off the car roof no longer a problem. |
|
| A flatter cockpit which goes higher up at the front as well as a more speed-based length-width-ratio makes the MOTION especially interesting for a bit sportier and lighter paddlers. The PRIJON Deck Box comes as a serial feature with the MOTION. |

Elegant lines result in real performance. The sweeping sheerline complements the nicely balanced ends; there isn't an awkward hump or bump anywhere. The sheer panels are "tumbled home" to reduce windage and improve paddle clearance. Like all Chesapeake Light Craft kayak kits, the decks are smoothly cambered, not cut up into a faceted, homebuilt appearance.
West Greenland-style hulls provide telepathic handling to the skilled paddler, while initial and secondary stability are ample for the newly initiated. On the water, the Shearwater demonstrates excellent poise and responsiveness in a broad range of conditions, edging turns easily when leaned buy tracking straight when pushed hard in surf. A cutaway bow and skeg-like stern ensures tracking even in extremely rough water. The relatively low profile means you'll spend less time on corrective strokes and more time covering ground. |

| The Chesapeake touring kayaks are icons in the sea kayaking world. Built in the thousands in dozens of countries around the world, the Chesapeakes are solid-tracking, comfortable kayaks that are easy to build but good-looking and delightfully fast. High-volume bows lift you over rough seas--or powerboat wakes--while the skeg-like stern prevents weather-cocking in blustery winds. CLC's signature cambered decks shed spray, increase the storage space inside the hull, add strength without weight, and look great. Chesapeake kayak builders explore quiet local rivers and paddle the length of the Sea of Cortez. Chesapeakes are built in garages, apartments, living rooms, television studios, and at places like the esteemed WoodenBoat School in Maine. |

| This lovely little strip-plaked kayak was designed for those who are looking for a light and nimble boat with a strong personality. Its little size makes it easy to handle, be it to put it on a car roof rack or to hoist it on yur yacht's deck. On the water, its little size will let you poke your hull into places forbidden to "regular" kayaks. It is available in 10 foot (3.05 m) or 11 foot (3.35 m) to let you choose between maximum compacity and a slightly larger carrying capacity. |

The Guillemot family of kayak designs grew out Nick Schade's quest to create a kayak to get out to the exposed islands off the coast of Maine. He wanted a boat that would be efficient for making open water crossings yet responsive when close to shore. Nick drew from a wide range of inspirations to create a dream boat. The responsiveness comes from the whitewater kayaks he was paddling at the time. The ability to cross open water was borrowed from Greenland Inuit kayaks.
The design that resulted is characterized by sweeping end shapes and a rounded cross section. The ends are kept fairly low to decrease windage but curl up at the tips to provide lift over waves. The relatively flat bottom and moderately soft chine provide an easy to turn platform while the fine ends provide balanced tracking.
The Guillemot designs are designed with somewhat loose tracking, for maximum responsiveness. If you give them free rein they may get away from you, but with practice you can simply think your way through a turn. A slight lean away will initiate a turn and you can stop it with a little lean the other way. With time the Guillemot becomes an extension of your body. |
