On the Custom model we take great care to select and book-match the wood veneers on hull and decks, giving our racing machines the refined looks of classic furniture. Outer surfaces are meticulously sanded, sealed and varnished. The hull is Mahogany or Cedar with matching or contrasting decks.

Outer and inner skin kevlar/carbonfiber reinforced sandwich material with nomex honeycombs. Frames reinforced with carbonfiber. Highest quality epoxy resin, same as used in aerospace industry. Vacuum bag technique is used to guarantee total bonding between outer layers and sandwich core. The combination of aramidfiber (kevlar) and epoxy resin results in a tear and impact resistance of the outer skin, that cannot be matched with other materials for the same weight. Following innovations have been made: Extra reinforcement of the gunwale with additional full size carbon layer and employment of full carbon foam frames.

Janousek JS 2x/-
The Janousek JS double/pair is designed around the World famous boat builder Klaus Filter's first design of the FISA Short Mould. Over the years Janousek have added innovation to the design. The hull is shorter in length than other hull shapes and designed to be rowed smoothly, with minimal pitching at the catch and finish of the stroke. The hull shape is recognised as the fastest shape worldwide for crews ranging from 55kg-80kg, making it suitable for lightweight, women and junior athletes. This shape is available as a double, pair or double/pair convertible. The Janousek JS is available in 5 different hull sizes to accommodate crews with a 5kg average weight allowance.

Kaschper Double Sculls and Double/Pair Convertibles are available in three models: Custom, International, and Extreme. All boats are created with various carbons, honeycomb cores, kevlar, and other materials in layered processes. All are high temperature oven cured. All lightweight aluminum components are hard coat anodyzed for protection in salt water. Hardware includes stainless steel oarlock pins, bolts, nuts, etc. Photos, specifications, contacts, and purchase information are available on our web site: .www.kaschper.com

Stämpfli boats are manufactured by using Nomex honeycomb sandwiched between high quality prepregnated carbon (90%) and glass fibre (10%), then heated under vacuum pressure and cured at 130°C. The resulting bond is 6–8 times stronger than the "wet lay-up" used by other manufacturers.
This substantially increased strength of bond, together with the use of carbon fibre, makes the hull stiffer, more durable and far less susceptible to damage.

One of our most internationally successful boats at all levels of competition from LWT 2- to HWT2-x. When first designed by Jeff Sykes in 1988 it was considered too narrow and unstable due to its semi circular shape for HWT use. However the success of the design at LWT level and in double sculling soon led to a change of heart and this mould has now won World and Olympic Gold in both 2- and 2x for men and women at HWT and LWT levels. Considered by many to be the finest 2-x design used in World Competition.
Mould 13 is suitable for crews 59-75kg while mould 23 is for crews 80 – 105 kgs.

At the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, the Australian Mens Double Scull acheived the first Olympic victory for Sykes Racing. Using the Double Scull Mould 13, they powered themselves to Olympic Gold.
Then, at the Atlanta Games in 1996, both the Australian and American Crews rowed Sykes pairs to medals - Gold and Silver respectively. Once again Gold for the Sykes Mould 13.
Most recently, at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, the Australian Heavyweight Mens Coxless pair used our Mould 23 to acheive the ultimate Olympic glory
While the success of our pair / double moulds has more to do with the crews that won in them, these crews have appreciated the fast hull shapes, incredible stability and exceptional quality of their Sykes equipment and thus they have returned to these moulds time and time again to maintain the winning edge.

The Olympia class of racing shells are made of several layers of kevlar and carbon with a nomex honeycomb sandwiched between with unidirectional carbon reinforcements at the gunnel, side and keel of the boat. The boat deflection is in the 4-4.5 mm range using the standard 20 kg. flex test (i.e., the boat is supported 1.318 m from the bow and the stern). This compares with a test done on K12 Empacher 1x, built in Feb. of 2000), with a 7 mm defection using the same test apparatus and protocol. The rigger supports are constructed from carbon, while the deck has several layers of kevlar and a layer of glass between a nomex honeycomb core. The Olympia boats all have the special hydrodynamic fin and also come with a spare Al fin for training. The Olympia boats also have a thin layer of glass near the surface to facilitate any repairs that may be needed and improve the quality of the surface finish.

Today's Alden 18 is lighter than the original and still among the most stable and versatile rowing shells in the world. Its convertability from single to double rowing is probably its best feature, after the shell's stability. Additionally, the 18 can be set up to accommodate a non-rowing passenger, whether that be your favorite pooch or a pal.
Our 18 is Alden's best family boat, thanks to its versatility and durability. And you can teach someone to row in a couple of hours, whether they're fully able or not. Just imagine the joy of taking someone not used to the water who couldn't enjoy it on their own out for a row; to feel the wind and taste the sea is to give a precious experience to someone who'll never forget it.

Explorer is a new class of recreational shells that incorporates the technology of our racing shells and the performance lineage of our entire racing fleet.
Designed by Klaus Filter as a teaching boat that's fun to row, it's also perfect for the recreational rower who wants optimal exercise while exploring the natural surroundings on the water.
The Explorer is stable, comfortable, strong and sleek. You'll also find the Explorer lighter, quicker, and stiffer than traditional recreational boats as it tracks well, maneuvers easily, and delivers speed typically seen in true racing shells. The new Quick Release rigger can be added or removed in just seconds, making the boat easy to carry and launch.
All levels of rowers will enjoy rowing the Explorer in all kinds of conditions. Perfect for family or club use and for adaptive rowers.
