Available for already-quiet Westerbeke D-NETTM diesel generators from 5.0 to 33.0 kW and 5.0 to 15.0 kW analog diesel gensets, Sound Guard SST soundproofing enclosures let you enjoy the tranquility of your favorite cove while enjoying whisper-quiet power. Made of the strongest marine-proven materials, easy-to-install Sound Guard SST enclosures are rugged. The unit base, frame, and assembly fasteners are all constructed of highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel for protection in moisture-prone areas. Sound-reducing enclosure panels are formed from sturdy aluminum to reduce weight. Panels are powder-coated for corrosion resistance and designed so that the top panel covers the side panels for additional moisture protection. And while we don't recommend kneeling or standing on the unit, these robust enclosures are rugged enough to withstand limited abuse.

CrioFoam® is a structural foam characterized by a low thermal conductivity, due to the special formulation and type of of expanding agents, which permits energy savings of up to 20%. The foams are composed of polymeric structures of cross-linked high density for an excellent resistance to styrene, suitable for unsaturated polyester resins, epoxy resins, and vinylester resins. Not only does its regular and fine structure guarantee excellent thermal properties, but also excellent mechanical properties and dimensional stability.
CrioFoam® is available with fire reaction to the DIN B2 standard.
CrioFoam® finds its application in the construction of sandwiches for all those applications in which very good thermal insulation is required, such as in the case of industrial containers and refrigerator vans for the preservation of food products.

RECYtherm: RECYtherm is a high volume fleece for thermal and sound insulation of complete hulls. The surface, a PE-foil with aluminum cover, acts as a vapor barrier. RECYtherm is also suitable as sound-insulation material for smaller engines.
RECYguard: By combining RECYtherm with a heavy foil (2mm thickness and 3,7 kg/m² weight) the engine noise is also eliminated at the lower frequency band (vibrations). An additional thin fleece between heavy foil and wall makes sure that vibrations are not transferred to the hull.
RECYcombi: For big engines (500 hp and more) we recommend our product RECYcombi. This product has the same base as RECYguard but the top layer is an 3-D shaped pressed polyester-fleece. The shape of a honeycomb leads to a diffuse reflection of the sound and the additional fleece layer provides better absorption of the vibrations. Furthermore the high-value look of the surface gives big engine rooms a very nice appearance.

The sound insulation of our hoods is approx. 10-18 db(A). For better ventilation, our hoods are equipped with additional fans (1~ 230 V). These hoods are available as complete units including vacuum pumps (compressors) or equipped for retrofitting of your existing vacuum pumps (compressors).

High Performance Acoustic Insulation

BARRIER Ultra-dB acoustic insulation is a carefully engineered soundproofing material intended for those applications requiring superior performance without the size and weight of laminated foam and lead/vinyl products.

QL sound absorbent panels effectively muffle engine noise. The insulation pa-nels have a density of 100 kg/m3, which is just the right weight to absorb marine
engine noise frequencies and noise levels.
They are made of recycled foam, which has a combination of weight and po-rosity that both insulates and absorbs. Two types are available, self-adhesive or non-adhesive.
QL sound absorbent panels meet the fire safety requirements for CE marking. The insulation material is protected by an oil-resistant film that is easy to clean. The foam plastic is impregnated to make it self-extinguishing, and to withstand a max. temperature of 200° C (390°F).
The insulation is sold in rectangular pa-nels: 500 x 1000 mm (20 x 40”), which are easy to transport and to apply. They are available in three thicknesses, 20, 30 and 50 mm, and can easily be cut to shape with a sharp knife.
It is important to fit the panels tightly together, using adhesive tape to seal the joints to prevent noise leakage, or pene-tration of water, which could be absor-bed by the material."
