How to choose this product
A wooden paddle consists of a shaft and a blade. It is used to propel stand-up paddleboards (SUP), canoes, kayaks, tenders and other small craft.
Wood is sturdy, attractive and comfortable to handle. It has the additional advantage of floating, but is heavier and offers poorer performance than carbon or other paddles.
Single-bladed models are used to paddle canoes, dinghies and SUPs. These last are particularly long. Some have a handle at the end of the shaft. Double-bladed models are used for kayaking. There are both symmetric and asymmetric blades. The latter are more efficient, and minimize drag as the blades exit the water.
How to choose
Paddle length will depend on discipline, whether SUP, canoeing, kayaking or another activity. The user's build will also affect choice.
