With the introduction of the totally revamped Matrix, Gaastra clearly defines the next age of windsurfing. The horizons of no-cam performance have been stretched to a new frontier. An updated skeleton shifts one batten from the foot area upward toward the mid leech. The resulting support overhead keeps the sail's profiles locked and loaded, even in the heaviest gusts. If you rode the Matrix blindfolded, you'd swear the shape was held rock solid by a set of cambers. Tear into a jibe, and you'd know the cams were a figment of your imagination. Ride the future.

Like the Ezzy Wave SE, the 2007 Infinity has radically more shape built into the forward section of the sail.
The 2007 Infinity’s deep, draft-forward design makes it a very powerful flat-water sail. The Infinity has two removable cams, one above and one below the boom. With both cams in, this sail is a perfect free ride/slalom sail. The shape is forward which means the Infinity can be set with an extremely deep draft for lighter winds without the back hand getting loaded. Take both cams out and you have a great blasting sail for small waves.

Its balanced construction with PROGRESSIVE.BATTEN.CONFIGURATION focuses on handling and draft stability on sizes up to 6.6 m2, which is why it features only 5 battens. At 7.0 m2 and above, the design shifts it's focus to planing and Kai Hopf once again concentrates on simple rig control and handling. Both versions offer excellent control, a high level of comfort, and plenty of planing power, creating the perfect synthesis of speed, acceleration, and handling. The new NATURAL will make windsurfing much less complicated, and for many the problem of choosing the right material will become obsolete.

The X_TYPE draws its potential from HYPER.LEECH II and TT.TOP II, which ensure a more active twist. In addition, the draft is set farther forward. This improves rig control and contributes to greater draft. Thanks to the PROGRESSIVE.BATTEN.CONFIGURATION, the number of battens depends on size and application. Sizes 6.6 and smaller have only 6 battens. This improves handling due to the lower weight. By the way, all X_TYPE can be used with a single 460 mast - one mast fits all!
