The GO: the original progressive freeride board that offers stability, comfort and volume with a blend of high performance, speed and fun for the progressing rider. This simple formula, born out of the widestyle revolution that Starboard pioneered in 1998, places the GO as the board that marked the beginning of modern windsurfing design: no other board before it provided such ease of use, stability and performance for the average windsurfer.
In 2010, the Go boards share the same original formula and the same features that have made it so successful over a decade ago: a full EVA deck for comfort, multiple insert positions for beginners, intermediates and experts and carry handles in wider boards for convenient handling.

The Futuras: the pure freeride boards that combine stability and ease of use with the widest wind range and the highest top end performance in its group. Blurring the lines between free-slalom boards and freeride boards, the Futuras are also, astonishingly, the most easy freeride boards in their group. This thanks to extra width and their ability to automatically deliver peak performance across a wide sweet spot.
Starboard Futuras were recently introduced in the World's leading windsurfing centre. Starboard started the season with 30% of customer's bookings while the other 70% booked established offerings. By the end of the season, the bookings changed to 70%, even up to 90% for Starboard. The Futuras' impossible combination of maximum performance with the easiest and most stable shape made it the simple choice.
Impossible engineering made possible: the Starboard Futura.

The Maximum Efficiency concept is the key. Massive wind range, massive user range, maximum top end speed, maximum average speed, unbeatable overtaking ability and the quickest acceleration out of jibes: these are the criteria to achieve maximum efficiency. How to achieve it?
The largest R&D team with a wide variety of body weights: the iSonics 2010 were developed by Tiesda You, Svein Rasmussen, Remi Vila, Sven Akerboom, Kevin Pritchard, Cyril Moussilmani, Jimmy Diaz and Jim Drake. From 60kg to 95kg, from PWA Champions to your average freerider, no iSonic prototypes are validated unless all eight designers approve. They need to be the best for the best, and the best for the rest.
The technical advantage: with Tiesda and Jim's engineering background that covers various aspects of mechanics, fluid dynamics and material science, Starboard can blend theoretical knowledge with feedback from on-the-water testing that gives a blend that no other brand can match. The famous low-nose concept, the wide-tail design, the high-aspect ratio planing surfaces and the extra thin shapes have all come from theoretical analysis. Today, these have become benchmark features in modern slalom design.

A lively and fast freeride board. A lively and fast freeride board. The 2010 FXR is a compact and stable design that gets planning on the lightest breeze and flies effortlessly through the wind lulls. The CNC fine tuned rockers keep the board gliding with the minimum wetted surface area. On the jibes the more compact design helps the FXR turn with ease, and finish the transitions with speed. In a straight line, the boards are extremely fast. The curved deck under the foot strap area provides an incredibly smooth and comfortable ride in all conditions.

The Eco Wood construction uses a combination of Wood and PVC in a double sandwich lay-up. This construction combines our latest research with a competitive price and a reduced environmental impact.
As special models, the FXR & FXRS boards come in bright red finish.
No other board in our range comes even close to the FXRS Freeride Series in matters of speed and early planning.
Dynamics
If you are looking for the fastest board on our line, then look no further. No other board comes even close. Through its added width and light weight, the all New FXR-S is also the first board to get you into a plane. Slightly more technical than the FXR on the outboard footstrap positioning, it can still be tuned to a more casual riding with the inboard settings. Through the new CNC slalom rocker line, it gives you the confidence to push with all your weight forward into the corners, allowing you to change the radius of your jibe at any time.
The board construction focuses on light weight and riding stability. The sanded finish minimizes paint weight, and the full double wood sandwich offer great strength and dent resistance.

Completely re-designed boards mixing speed and pleasure of control with an unmatched feeling of acceleration and turning potential. "Plug and play" is the first thing that will come to your mind when placing your feet onto these decks!
Features:
New LIGHTER construction technology has allowed to greatly improve the planning and top end potential. Full rails from nose to tail have made possible the use of shorter and wider outlines. The scoop-rocker has been flattened especially in correspondence to the mast track position in order to improve planning and reduce impact with chops. Increasing V towards the tail area, as a classic freeride board allows fantastic turns and great ease of control for your back foot. Foot-straps inserts have been moved towards the middle part of the board to allow easier foot placement and maximize easier balance for a pure riding pleasure.

The Kode Tufskin is a dual purpose board: a freeride board for adults and an entry level, progressive board for kids. What makes the shape work for both purposes is the extra wide width for its compact volume. With its special features, this shape can then be adapted for either type of rider, making it the perfect board to be shared by all.

Starboard introduces the Atom 99, the hyper-maneuverable freeride board. The freerider designed with a single purpose: to bring the freedom of style to freeriding.
Ride it strapless for total freedom of expression, to carve heel side and toe side jibes and ride switch stance. Or ride it straps-on for conventional control.
Ultra slim, with a fast rocker line and integrating Starboard's power steering spiraling vee concept, the Atom 99 turns, carves and reacts like no other freerider. It's no longer about top speed and maxed-out power. Only freedom counts.
Forget points, forget test scores; forget conventions and freeriding as you know it.

In 2005, when the Serenity concept was first revealed to the World by Windsurfing magazine USA, development work by windsurfing brands and media exposure on light wind windsurfing and longboards no longer existed. The industry had only just started to get the hang of wide-style boards, those new designs that have helped windsurfers the World over to plane in less wind. Planing windsurfing was all there was for windsurfers to read about, talk about, preach and practice.
"The Serenity aims at ultra-light winds and cruising, and puts a modern spin on the simple elegance that helped windsurfing boom decades ago. It doesn't require a jumbo sail. It doesn't require pro-level skills to enjoy. Best of all, it doesn't require real wind for an exhilarating ride. Simply hop on, sheet in and go. In this regard, the Serenity succeeds, and succeeds in a big way. In terms of growing the sport, putting more sails on waterways everywhere, and offering everyone a form of windsurfing that's all the time and all fun, the Serenity provides a valuable wake up call." Eddy Patricelli, editor of WindSurfing magazine
Serenity set the course for the next chapter. Its concept of an uncompromised, lightwind-only hull shape measuring 460cm desgined for the modern age of windsurfing created shockwaves through the industry. It paved the way for longboards to make their return and ever since then, lightwind windsurfing gradually grew and grew.

A direct development of our Seal Concept, the SeaLion shape has been compacted within only 232cm of length, a 74cm width, and an 8,5kgs weight.
This is a board you can travel with and store very easily.
Its 135 litres volume is progressively spread on a balanced and very compact outline; this will guarantee that the board remains stable when stopped, allowing riders up to 100kg to stay standing-up on the board.
Its continuous V-bottom sports slight concaves along the full length, in order to maximise glide in lower wind-forces.
Its tail, with an over-50cm One-foot-Off, is fitted with pretty much outboard twin fins (2 x 18cm); which will get you on the plane from 2 Beaufort and maximise your back-foot turning power.
Its rails are significantly rounded and soft forward.
On the water
The SeaLion is a stable board; it bobs-up on the white-water, thanks to the limited area impacting the wave. With a bottom designed to skim in 1-2 knots winds, it will plane at the very first breeze. Its surfing curves are neat and stable, thanks to excellent supports on the voluminous rail in a bottom turn and instantaneous pivoting when later putting you weight on the back foot in the cut-back.
On a plane, this board will show a surprisingly good speed. Both jibes and tacks will be easy to master.
Strapless planning is a true sensation builder.
More than just a sensational, strapless windsurfing will improve your technique, helping you find the optimal feet placing, and an efficient body attitude

It is no longer necessary for us to demonstrate the characteristic 'accessible to all' of our slalom shapes. Our last Tracers had proven that anyone can dominate on the spot.
With all our past experience, this year we have re worked our scoops, our hulls and have redrawn our outlines.
We have improved our shapes taking in consideration what we learnt from: our world wide dominance in the elite windsurf competitions and from the last years where we focused on giving you the possibilities to reach this high level performance.
The new SL 1 Concepts are aimed to reach the ultimate performance.
The perfect glide and the absolute reactivity have been optimised by a complete development on every tiniest surface of the board.
- We have worked on the front part of the deck; 'two deck steps' strengthen the structure, guaranteeing an immediate reactivity of the shape during planning and when touching the water. The transfer of the applied forces is immediate towards the performance.
- The strap positions have been decentred on a more comfortable deck to optimise the speed.
- Cut outs disappear from the hull to the profit of a clear bottom shape without infringing the flow of the water.
- The value of the V has been redefined. Under the front foot the V is at its maximum and it is nearer to zero at the back of the board, guaranteeing stability and high speed.
The tests on the water have been filmed and the results talk for themselves: the shapes accelerate on the water without the slightest interference. The transfer of the applied forces on the front of the hull to the tail is optimised, as to win in acceleration and speed. Stability is perfect allowing endless accelerations.
