| Flexible impeller pumps make excellent bilge pumps, principally because of their ability to handle bilge debris without damage. Because of the robust design many owners still use our 12 Volt dc or 24 Volt dc flexible impeller motor pump units that are up to 25 years old! Flexible Impeller Pumps also give the benefits of good flow, low cost, low size and weight, and are easily serviced and maintained. Most Flexible Impeller pumps must not be run dry, as this will damage the impeller which will require replacing. However, the Utility Puppy 2000 and 3000 both allow maximum of ten minutes dry running after initial prime. As with submersible pumps, flexible impeller pumps can be operated using a float or Hydro Air switch, and remotely controlled from outside the bilge compartment. Water Pressure Pump
The new 2.9 and 1.9 models offer attractively priced solutions for craft with up to 3 hot and cold outlets, such as galley sink, hand basin and shower. There are two pumps in the system. One is an AC 220v pump which will, when there is AC power available (e.g. the generator is operating or the boat is connected to the dockside), automatically start working as soon as there is demand for water. The second pump is a DC 24v pump, which works from the battery banks.
When there is no AC power available, the system knows automatically to choose the latter pump. The unique feature of this DUO pump is that when water demand is very high, the intelligent system knows to operate both pumps at the same time, ensuring that you will never run out of water. A strong advantage of the DUO pump is that in the unlikely event that one pump breaks down, there is a second pump, standing by, as a backup.
This pump is readily available and comes in two different models, a 24vDC/220vAC-50Hz, suitable for the European market and a 24vDC/115-60Hz, suitable for the US market.
The AMFA Duo is compact and, as it is factory set, it is easy to install and is ideally suited to yachts of between 50ft - 70ft. As you would expect from an AMFA product from REYA, the fittings and piping are made from stainless steel ensuring a hard working, long lasting life. |

The pump is positioninsensitive. It is sucking in drying. A longer unlubricated operation should be avoided however, since otherwise the Impeller could suffer damage. | A spring and a deck wash pump, which are suitable also for the promotion of seawater. By its special construction this Rhine current pump is insensitive to the admixture of sand (grain size up to 6 mm), rust or other pollutants. The use of an unsolicited impeller and a most modern axial face seal make nearly completely maintenance-free this pump. The engine is appropriate for continuous operation. We suggest, with the installation, building into the sucking in line a foot or a sleeve setback valve. The pump needs to be filled by this measure only before first start-up with liquid. A refilling up when tearing the liquid column off is not necessary from there. Also air cushions in the line system do not impair the working reliability of the pump. |
