It is equipped with low pressure UV-lamps, powered by electronic high frequency ballasts, for highest efficiency and lowest power consumption.
The sterilization process is microprocessor-controlled via data from the UV-sensor. The intelligent lamp monitoring system will, in case of any lamp failure, inform the user of this occurrence as well as the location of the broken lamp.
The hour meter tells the user to change lamps when the limit of its using time is reached.
All necessary data is available in a display window on the control cabinet.

The MicroKill UV was developed based on 20 years experience in water injection on offshore platforms, water treatment for fish farming and drinking water plants in Norway.
The system has a very low-pressure drop to minimize its effect on ballast pump capacity. The MicroKill UV is a minimum maintenance system and utilize high power UV for efficient kill or inactivation of organisms, bacteria and pathogens in ballast water.

Water sterilization systems by ultraviolet radiation.
Based on a electromagnetic wavelength of A=254 nm, the UV rays interact with the organic matter in the water, reaching its 100% sterilization.
The UV sterilizers QTM uv series are characterized by a compact construction and a high degree of efficiency concerning disinfection and energy consumption. The construction design follows current standards and regulations.
UV sterilizers are equipped with polished high quality stainless steel reactors (AISI 316-Ti), so that they can treat high salinity water, therefore being ready to work in the strictest conditions on board vessels. They can be used also for the disinfection of high temperature water, specially indicated to protect against legionella.
The used UV-lamps are characterized by a long durability and a high degree of efficiency as well. The compact construction design enables an easy replacement of the UV lamps at the end Df their useful life. You don't need any tool. Also replacement and cleaning of the quartz pipe can be arranged easily.
