Underwater scooters are vehicles which tow divers, allowing them to move effortlessly beneath the surface.
These vehicles can be used by recreational boaters simply for fun. They also constitute an important tool for scuba divers, spearfishers and professionals working underwater for additional safety, to avoid fatigue, to move against strong currents and for search and rescue.
The scooter consists of a motor in a watertight housing equipped with one or more handles. The motor drives a propeller. The user holds the handles at arm's length, stretching out above and behind the vehicle. Some models have a speed control.
Certain versions include a buoyancy system for surface use or to reach the surface more easily. Battery characteristics determine the range of the scooter. Some models can tow several divers at once.
