Triple blocks

How to choose this product

triple block

A triple block has three sheaves, sometimes with metal or plastic ball bearings.

Applications

Such blocks can be part of six- or seven-line tackle. This degree of mechanical advantage is particularly useful on downhauls, running backstays and wherever loads are especially heavy.

Technologies

The manner in which the lines are passed through the sheaves is essential. They must cross at the right place to avoid rubbing against each other. The final line must run over the middle sheave, which is aligned with the block's attachment point to ensure the most efficient distribution of the effort.

How to choose

The line type and diameter, and the working load will determine the choice of block.
