Your suggestions for improvement:
An oar consists of a long shaft with a blade at one end. It is used to propel small craft such as rowing shells, rowboats and some small pleasure/recreational craft, including stern-sculled types.
ApplicationsOars called sculls are used on light racing or recreational craft, themselves called sculls or shells. The sport is referred to as "crew." Some oars on NauticExpo can be used as safety gear on small recreational/pleasure craft, for example, in case of engine failure. Others, especially models which can be disassembled, are suitable for tenders.
TechnologiesSculls are designed to be mounted on the articulated pivots of crew shells. Oars for rowboats or recreational craft are usually made of varnished wood. Some have plastic handles for a surer grip and/or a safety for the oarlock. Blades can have the shape of a laurel leaf, be symmetrical or asymmetrical, or be rectangular. Some oars can be disassembled for easier transport and stowing.
How to chooseChoice will depend on intended use.
