Despite a series of home runs with new boats, when it came time to start on the Cabo 43, we went straight back to the test tank. Why? Because improvement is by necessity preceded by change, and at Cabo, improvement is a never ending goal.
Three different hulls were built and run in the test tank at the highly regarded Stevens Test Tank Institute. Three longitudinal centers of gravity and three different displacements were used, resulting in nine different configurations.

The experience gained over more than 27 years and the design and development of over 48 individual models has allowed us to continually refine the most functional yet aesthetically pleasing interiors. The clean contemporary lines, the generous headroom, the stainless-steel overhead handrail recessed into the headliner... there's an abundance of details that cater to your comfort and good taste.
Considerable interest in the new 41 has come from those who envisaged buying a larger boat (46 feet overall). Much to their delight, they have discovered that the 41's ingenious design, use of space and list of inclusions far exceeded their expectations. This is very much a vessel that incorporates many of the features found in our larger models. It is also the expression of a dynamic new era for Australia's Riviera, an era of innovation, precise engineering, CAD (Computer Aided Design) design and a revolution in customer service. Be prepared to be inspired.

Following rave reviews at its premiere showings at the Viking Yacht Company’s VIP Miami Boat Show Preview in January 2009, and the 2009 Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show in February, the Viking 46 Convertible promises to set uncompromising standards in its class. Built to deliver the utmost quality and performance, the convertible showcases Viking’s relentless commitment to excellence.
Starting with an all new hull and running surface, the 46 Convertible takes extreme advantage of the ground breaking design heralded with the introductions of the Viking 60 and the Viking 50. The performance and sea keeping qualities of its stable mates validated Viking’s design, engineering and production teams’ pursuit to take Viking’s world wide recognition for outstanding quality and achievements to still higher levels. The 46 Convertible follows this overwhelming success in a slightly smaller envelope making it an ideal choice for the owner/operator seeking Viking’s more than four and a half decades of boat building expertise in a scaled down version of its tournament winning champions.

The Viking 46 Open is one more example of Viking’s dominance in building high performance luxury yachts by delivering outstanding quality, value and versatility. Designed for both fishing and cruising, the 46 Open is bursting with blue-water capabilities and yacht club panache.
Tournament as well as casual fishermen will appreciate the attention to detail in the 121 square foot cockpit garnered from the thousands of hours Viking puts into competitive fishing every year. The cockpit features a molded non-skid deck for secure footing, a laminated mounting plate in the deck for a fighting chair, a rocket launcher and table, thirsty scuppers, a walk-through transom door with lift gate and locking latches on the deck hatches, which use stainless-steel gas springs. Insulated recessed in-deck boxes accommodate the catch of the day and clean up fast with a powerful pump out system. The boxes can be configured in a variety of ways and also be used for gear stowage, ice chipper output or plumbed for an available live well. As you expect from Viking, nothing is left to chance so the cockpit is well appointed with amenities such as flush rod holders, recessed hardware, fresh and raw-water washdown systems, tackle stowage, rounded coamings and more.

Take the helm of the all new 48 Express, and we will show you it can do what no other sportfishing boat can do. Punching through 6-foot head seas at 35 knots, its beautifully flared bow throws off every drop of water before it gets to the windshield. Try that on one of our competitor's boats, and you'll be under a waterfall. The power steering makes it easy to change direction, sprinting forward or backing down. And when you have to head out to the canyon, you'll know you'll get there with plenty of time to put your lines in, even when conditions make our competitor's boats head for cover, thanks to a 30-knot cruising speed. Optional power gets her over 37-knots.
Everything starts with the bottom hull shape. All other things-the tumblehome, the flare-are all derivative of the bottom, and it's very effective. Designed in collaboration with noted naval architect Donald L. Blount, the Buddy Davis 48 Express is a masterpiece in seakeeping performance. Run her hard. She doesn't pound. She won't shake, rattle, roll or leave you wet. Down swell, she behaves and goes where you want, never steering by the bow.

With an eye-pleasing sheerline and a beautifully proportioned profile, the 48 Convertible is a great fit in the Viking line-up. Large, frameless, tinted deckhouse windows flood the salon with natural lighting, bringing out the beauty of the varnished teak joinery. Teak cabinetry lines the starboard side, concealing Viking's home theatre system, the dual-voltage electrical panel, and plenty of stowage. Opposite, the L-shaped lounge converts to a sleeper, and provides safekeeping for fishing rods. The U-shaped galley is both elegant and practical with Corian countertops, recessed appliances and undercounter deep-drawer refrigeration. The dinette easily accommodates four comfortably.
