Reliability, Accuracy… Safety
Mapmedia marine charts offer reliability and accuracy because they are scanned directly from the official charts that are authorized by national hydrographical survey offices around the world such as SHOM in France. Locally produced charts are preferred since they are the most detailed and accurate available for the area in question. As a result, the charts use the exact color codes and chart references of the printed versions. You are immediately comfortable and the safety risks created by unfamiliarity are eliminated.
Mapmedia takes extra steps to insure the highest level of chart accuracy using the latest available cutting edge technology.
Ease of use
Designed for optimum use with MaxSea, Mapmedia charts were designed from inception to be displayed in a continuous or "seamless" format. This technique was a revolutionary concept pioneered by MaxSea that allows the user to move from one chart to the next without being aware of it. There is no need to manually select and load charts for viewing.
Extensive detailed coverage
Thanks to partnerships with numerous international hydrographic and topographic offices, Mapmedia has digitized more than 12,000 charts with world wide coverage.

S57 Navicarte/Livechart - vectorial cartography resulting from the national hydrographic services for coastal navigation
Compatible with Extra Navicarte & Navicarte seaPro
The format S57 Navicarte/Livechart is a derivative of S57 ENC for a use specific to the pleasure. Certain information suitable for the pleasure was added to these charts for boats so that they approach visually the style of the charts paper (pictograms on the coast, range of the bathymetric zones, etc). These charts are updated every year.
The Navicarte format is equivalent to the S57 format with a posting close to the charts Navicarte paper. The bathymetric data result from the charts of the SHOM, according to convention SHOM /Navicarte n°2-89. They are the subject of an annual update and are faithful to the style of Navicarte reading.
These charts are particularly recommended for coastal and deep-sea navigation
