Single sculls are narrow, streamlined crafts propelled by rows and usually designed for one person.
They are sometimes called skiffs. That word also refers to sailing dinghies with sleek hulls and hiking benches that allow planing.
On NauticExpo, a sailing skiff will be referred to as a sailing dinghy.
Single sculls can be used as sports crafts, for cruising, or for racing.
Single sculls are made of wood or of composite materials (enhanced velocity).
The hiking bench allows the rower to sit down comfortably and snugly, and can feature or not a leg-extending system. It usually features an articulated row fixation-system.
Some single sculls can be dismantled to ease transportation.
Depending on the planned activity, choose a high-performance single scull (lightweight and sleek) or a touring model for cruises and treks (larger and more stable, but also slower).
Touring and leisure single sculls have the advantage of featuring storing units for camping material and personal belongings.
