The V250 proves it’s possible to meet the emissions compliance requirements of U.S. EPA Tier 2 without sacrificing fuel efficiency. In this new engine, improved fuel management, a new combustion system design and refined cooling together deliver fuel savings of as much as 6.5%, compared to our earlier engine designs. At the same time, the V250 meets the EPA’s new, more stringent emissions guidelines as well as Marpol Annex VI standards.

The new Wärtsilä 50DF applies the sophisticated tri-fuel technology incorporated in the reliable and well-tried Wärtsilä 46 HFO engine. It can be run either on natural gas or on light fuel oil (LFO) or on heavy fuel oil (HFO). The engine can smoothly switch between fuels during engine operation and is designed to give the same output regardless of the fuel.

The Wärtsilä 34DF is a dual fuel engine that can operate both on natural gas and liquid fuels. It is based on the well proven Wärtsilä 32 engine using similar equipment as Wärtsilä Vasa 32DF, Wärtsilä 34SG and Wärtsilä 50DF engines.
