It's no coincidence that carbon fibre is used in aeroplanes. Carbon composite combines stiffness and strength with low weight. Selden low-weight carbon spars have accentuated longitudinal stiffness. This means that forestay tension can be substantially increased. All experienced racing sailors know what this means in terms of increased performance. The combination of greater stiffness and reduced weight will bring you beyond the speed limits.

| Hall seamless carbon-fiber masts have no peer in the combination of light weight, stiffness, and the ability to tune easily for changing conditions. Hall is the choice of the winning Cup crew in the last two events. |

Designed by Juan Kouyoumdjian, architect of Team Prada, in association with K-Yachting, the KOD 33 is a one design sailing boat dedicated to a large range of professional and amateur sailors eager to discover the sensations of sailing an America's Cup boat in fleet races or match-racing. (Cf sheer plan and deck plan)
Modern equivalent of the famous 6MJI and other Dragons, the K-One Design 33 has been imagined to be sailed and appreciated by reduced crews of every level (3 or 4 crew members).
Stability has been privileged upwind and downwind with a particularity : hiking is forbidden and all crews must sail inside the cockpit, contributing to comfort and safety. Sailing an high tech boat becomes an accessible pleasure thanks to easy handling and comfort.
The KOD 33 is transportable with a trailer on motorways (beam is less than 2,50 m). Everything has been eased for international shipping as the boat and her fittings enter a 40 feet container (mast and trailer included).
A championship and an international Class will be created as early as 2003 with the 100 years old One Ton Cup as the highlight of the KOD 33 season. The link with the One Ton Cup is of course the keel weight of one ton |
