If the necessary carrying capacity is one of your requirements, or you wish to have larger volume of living space, the OUTREMER 45' is made for you. This new design (the first of which, "Bagnoles de l'Orne" now famous, was launched in 2000) should allow you to noticeably increase the interior volume and the carrying capacity, while keeping reduced length and great manoeuvrability with a reduced crew. Some 45' catamarans are destined for chartering or hire. 8 to 10 people may indeed spend several weeks on short cruises on this catamaran. 4 to 6 peoples live comfortably aboard for longer cruises.

2 Versions are proposed, central wheelhouse or shifted, the first offering the double advantage of 360° view, without any dead angle and above all an easy circulation towards the forward deck, on each side unlike the shifted wheelhouse. This solution offers also a better circulation towards the wardroom. However, the cockpit volume reduces and the kitchen becomes scattered on each side of the entries.

The new 45S, like its big brother the 72, has the new %u201CBeach Deck%u201D feature that provides almost 100 sq.ft. of lounging area aft of the main cockpit. The High Bridge affords the skipper an excellent view of both bows and great additional cockpit storage. Out of the ordinary? Yes, but after all who wants ordinary in their yacht? The High Bridge console also houses an entertainment unit and a bar to please the guests!

A group of four Chilean business men decided to share the costs of this newly developed 50ft catamaran. The concept, design and structure, including finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics, were developed together with Navtec, Chile. This 50ft catamaran replaces previous designs under 50ft and is based on our experience over 20 years in the construction of high performance sail multihulls. Emphasis is on excellent performance under sail, but at the same time the vessel is capable to provide the required payload capacity to satisfy the growing demand for extra equipment like bigger fridges/freezers, air conditioning, entertainment systems and the resulting need for a generator. Power could be provided by twin diesel engines up to 100hp each or by a complete diesel electric hybrid system like >>OSSA Powerlite. All kinds of interiors layouts could be realized, because of the available space. Sail Game Fishing version with integrated fly bridge aft is also possible.

We plan sail boats with two hulls, able to carry weights and to have a habitable volume, but we wish that they are good sail boats, not a compromise between boat and roulotte.

The Young 57 "Earthling" was Greg Young's first catamaran design and was built as a one off project for Mr. John McGettigen (owner of Bull 9000 Matador) and the final result reflects this in that this catamaran is very unique and has many features generally not possible on a production design.
The design brief was to produce a genuine very high performance Catamaran that would be very fast on the race track and provide exhilarating sailing, yet be very safe, easily handled by two people in any situation and not only be comfortable for 8 guests, but provide luxurious amenities and facilities. Not to mention this design had to not only be aesthetically beautiful, but striking from every angle. It is a beautiful sculptured design, yet its real beauty is in the extreme attention to detail and the simple appearance, which hides the very sophisticated use of high tech materials and engineering expertise.
Earthling was launched in 2000 and has since sailed many thousands of offshore miles and is currently owned by an Australian and sailing out of Brisbane.

An absolute breakthrough in speed whilst still maintaining the right level of comfort...The new African FastCat 555 Green Motion is built with vacuüm infusion, which stands for Kevlar and basalt fibre, Epoxy, Vacuum Infusion. This method is used to lay the hulls, deck, bulkheads and interior modules onto a dry sandwich of E-glass Texalium, Carbon, Kevlar and closed cell foam. The sandwich will sub-sequently be put under a minimum of 24 hours of vacuum. This method uses about half the resin and results in a stronger laminate which directly trans-late into a weight saving of more than 2800 kg in the African Fast Cat 555 Green Motion. Carbon fibre is applied to the hulls, keels, rudders, mast foundation and rig which gives a great deal of extra strength. Both the hull and deck are built in one piece after which the bulk-heads and interior modules are installed and the deck is bonded onto the hull. After that the whole yacht is baked at 80 degrees Celsius for 8 hours for the post curing in order to create an extreme strong construction. The Kevlar in the hulls is used as an extra barrier against impact. Carbon is also used for the rig (mast and boom) witch results in an extra saving of 335 Kg (AFC 525).
