Class rules will usually define whether spinnaker poles in carbon fibre may be used. Carbon fibre poles are typically used on every size boats as they are far easier to handle and offer amazing strenghts for weight advantages.
All spinnaker poles are available painted to our customer's colour specification.
Carbon fibre spinnaker poles are available as standard in "raw" carbon fibre, clear coated, or painted. Carbon fibre poles are now available with the logo and name of the boat, as well as other information, cast in the laminate. This is an added advantage as this branding is a preventive measure against theft of the pole.

Forespar® has perfected the art of manufacturing carbon fiber equipment not only for the blue water yachts and racers but now for the recreational sailor as well. We have manufactured standard composite poles for over 10 years. We made our first carbon fiber mast in 1979, ten years before anyone else in the U.S.
Forespar® is the world leader in standard composite whisker poles, spinnaker poles and reaching struts. Standard sizing is 2" - 6". Spinnaker poles are offered in double tapered as well as parallel configurations. In addition, we custom design and make poles of bow spirits specifically sized for the head sail of your choice; code zeros, asymmetrical chutes, spinnakers or roller furling genoas.
Typically a composite spinnaker pole will be 40% lighter than a similar aluminum pole yet almost 50% stiffer. Fixed length whisker poles and bow spirits are 50% lighter.
All Forespar® poles are manufactured in eh U.S.A. and assembled in our California plant by professional riggers. HIGH MODULUS ENGINEERING, the premier composite design firm for the 2003 America's Cup racing, is our partner in design and brings to the Forespar® design efforts the wealth of composite engineering learned during this year's cup races.

Selden aluminium spinnaker poles give you fast and safe spinnaker handling. All the fittings have well-rounded edges to prevent personal injury and damage to equipment. The extrusions are lightweight and very durable, and are fitted with pole savers to shield the pole against damage from forestay and shrouds.

We have developed our own computer controlled manufacturing method in which prepreg (pre-impregnated) tows are wound onto a mandrel (cylinder) prior to oven curing. This method enables us to exercise full control over every stage of the manufacturing process and guarantee products of consistently high quality. One of the big advantages of this Selden production method is that it enables us to achieve sufficient durability in the areas subject to the greatest loads and wear.

Telescopic pole, can be extended to 150% of normal spinnaker pole length (SPL), a must when poling out a large genoa or a gennaker. It can be telescoped down for easier stowage.

Formula understands the science of Carbon Fibre technology, and engineer rigs using finite element analysis. This enables us to confirm the loads before a single piece of pre-preg carbon fibre is cut.

Carbon composites are known for their:
High fatigue tolerance
Stability under environmental exposure
Exceptional strength to weight
All these features make carbon composites attractive not just for the construction of mast tubes and fittings, but also for standing rigging.
Composite Rigging installed the first full set of Element C6 carbon composite rigging on the Farr 52 Georgia in Auckland in March 2003. This set includes all shrouds, jumpers, running backstays and headstay. These pieces now have over five years of service without incident.
Since that time EC6 has been installed on a variety of yachts ranging from 30’ sport boats to 50+ meter Megayachts.
The first set of EC6+ continuous rigging was installed on the Farr 60 Numbers in the spring of 2005. More recently the Open 60 Paprec-Virbac won the Barcelona doubled handed nonstop round the world race with EC6+ carbon shrouds. Post-race testing confirmed that there was no strength degradation. The rigging has been refurbished and reinstalled for the next event.

CST have just released a new standard range of spinnaker poles. Please select poles by their maximum length, boat size is given as a guide only. CST also manufactures bow poles and receiving tubes, for dinghies, through to sports boats and larger yachts.
The poles can be supplied as bare tubes or complete with machined plastic plugs, selected end fittings and trip lines (bridles not included). There is also the option of including an aramid wear patch and poles can be clear coated with polyurethane for UV protection.

Formula are able to supply quality spinnaker poles in Carbon or Aluminium from 3 inches to ten inches in diameter.
Engineered to suit boat use, we use a mix of custom or branded pole ends and adaptors.

Hall carbon-fiber poles are manufactured using the same aerospace-quality, seamless construction process as our extraordinary masts and booms. Each pole is custom molded on a male mandrel then autoclave-cured to eliminate voids. Hall uses unidirectional, pre-preg carbon fiber for the pole's structure, resulting in maximum strength at minimum weight.
Hall Spars & Rigging spinnaker poles are made for intense sailing. Hall poles save weight on deck, are easier to handle (half the weight of aluminum), and are incredibly tough. Kevlar in key areas protects the carbon from chafe.

SPARS, POLES & TUBES
We have amassed a broad selection of mandrels over the years and can provide spinnaker poles, bow sprit tubes and whisker poles for just about any boat from 14 to 90 feet.

Two-stage control system
The Easysnuffer features a two-stage control system which, as you pull the line first tightens the upper part of the sock while leaving the lower part straight. This avoids the sail getting stuck in the sock and being pulled up with it.
Single control line
Unlike many other recovery socks with two separate lines, the Easysnuffer is controlled by a single line. Inside, the Easysnuffer is regulated by two control lines, one on each side, each encased in channels sewn onto the sock. With this design, the control lines simply cannot tangle with the sail.
Furthermore, the channels are made of white cloth which contrasts nicely with the grey fabric of the sock and therefore is an optical guide helping you judge whether the sock is twisted or not.

The Cruisingbag is rightly called an intelligent bag, because not only does it allow Parasailors and Parasails to be compressed into the smallest possible packet sizes, but also every other kind of downwind sail as well. The fasteners, which are also used in mountaineering, can be opened and closed effortlessly with just one hand. The detailed workmanship of the deck ties with which the bag can be securely attached to the deck is just as remarkable as the aluminium coated bottom that prevents any dampness seeping into the sail - or conversely dripping into your cabin. And still your sail is able to dry out easily thanks to the airing strips fitted all around the Cruisingbag.
Of course the Cruisingbag also has an oval shape just like the funnel of the Easysnuffer, so that both of them fit perfectly together. And with its four handles making it easy to move, this little pack feels at home no matter where you put in onboard.

That statement is particularly true regarding the spinnaker. The problem is not to hoist the sail but to get it back on the boat. That's when the spinnaker sleeve makes the average sailboat owner a great sailor. Without any help, the ATN Spinnaker Sleeve makes that very powerful and expensive sail disappear with a minimum of fuss and trauma. And the sail is ready to be hoisted again immediately, no more packing!
While it would seem that a spinnaker sleeve is a simple sailing tool, and that any one with a sewing machine could design and fabricate one, when dealing with large sails, the problems increase rapidly in complexity and cost. It is very plausible to get hurt or to inflict great injury to others, and to one's wallet, if the system used is inadequate. But there is no need to rub it in, especially at sea: it has to work and be reliable.
