Gybe safely with Gyb'Easy, the new Wichard boom brake
Why a boom brake? Gybing remains one of the most challenging operations on a sailing boat even for experienced sailors and can possibly generate injuries and material damage. Gyb'Easy is an efficient and safe solution to reduce such risks.
Concept: Thanks to the frictions of the specific line called Gyb'Flex passing over the boom brake, the boom is allowed to gybe smoothly and without jerks. The more the line passes over the openings, the more the friction is increased and hence the brake efficiency.
Settings of the Gyb'Easy: The adjustment is made thanks to the tension of the line. 3 different positions exist for a better adaptation of the mainsail and wind conditions.
Easy installation: It takes a few minutes to install it on a eye strap of the boom. Two different fittings can be implemented to fit with all the deck configurations.

RMR-Reefing masts
RMR reef masts are constantly updated and with their proven drive technology are particularly designed for sailors who need to reef the mainsail simply and safely when sailing with a small crew.
The RMR system makes it easier to handle both large and small yachts. Reefing the mainsail to the required size can be done by one person from the safety of the cockpit.
The drive for the luff rod is provided by a virtually maintenance-free hydraulic drive with self-braking worm gear, spiral bevel gears and helical drive gears in combination with a robust Danfoss hydraulic motor.

Rondal constantly strives to optimise style and structural soundness. The combination of engineering and style found in our winch bases, mast/spreader connections, spreader lights and so on reflect our attention to detail. Masthead, gooseneck and many other components are designed, cut and milled with the aid of computer assisted machinery to ensure accuracy and cost-effective production. To counteract any problems associated with corrosion, Rondal welds all aluminium tangs, brackets and other fittings. When stainless parts are fitted, maximum effort is made to avoid corrosion in the future. The mastheels are constructed from plate material, either to fit in a standard Rondal maststep or on a Rondal hydraulic mastjack. All masts are completed with a two component polyurethane paint finish. Clients can choose almost every possible colour.
Made of Alustar aluminium plate
In order to bring down the weight and the centre of gravity of our aluminium masts, Rondal developed the alternative method by utilizing ALUSTAR aluminium plate material for the construction of masts.
These masts are engineered and produced to just cover the required Moments of Inertia over the full length of the mast in both longitudinal and transversal direction.

The Nordic Smart Boom is available for new as well as existing booms and is made customized in carbon fibre to keep its weight down to an absolute minimum. The primary purpose of the Nordic Smart Boom is that of "picking up" the mainsail when the sail is lowered down on the boom, the boom tarpaulin is zipped, and the sail is stowed away.
Nordic smart Boom primarily targets boats ranging between 30 and 50 ft.; above that, we would recommend the Park Avenue boom. No matter if you have a new or older boat and you are looking for easy handling, a refined look, the Nordic Smart Boom will fulfill your needs.
|
|
The carbon fibre boom distinguishes itself by having a low weight, high strength, and a unique design and appearance. Our design team will take all the needs and specific wishes into the design of the boom
Primarily, there are two types of carbon fibre booms. The ordinary boom, known from small yachts, and the Park Avenue boom, used on the big mega yachts on which the size of the mainsail is so bigand heavy that it will require the boom to have ”wings” which will carry the sail when lowered, generally supported by lazy jacks.
Nordic Mast has its own moulds and tools for making carbon fibre booms. Nordic Masts use the same technique and engineering principles for the boom structures as we do for our masts. Nordic Mast is only using leading products in the making of our boom.
Small but very fine details on the PARK AVENUE BOOM as he incorporated track for the boomcover and the suncover are two of the standard features on the product.

The demand for lighter masts (and booms) shows no sign of abating as owners request ever-lighter displacement cruising yachts. Anticipating this trend, Rondal became involved in the carbon fibre field at an early stage. Assisted by the Dutch Aerospace Laboratory at the design stage, it is believed that Rondal has chosen the best way of production.
Characteristic for the Rondal carbon fibre mast is that, whatever the length, the mast is built in one piece. Building the mast in one piece has the huge advantage that the fibres in the 0° layers run from top to bottom without any interruption in the fibres. All compression forces can be guided safely through the laminate.

Since 1989, Nordic Mast has been building masts in carbon fibre for yachts ranging from 30 to 100 ft. Each mast is built to the specific calculations and dimensioning prepared by our engineers, based on the data of the boat and the requirements of our customer. Nordic Mast is now capable of building masts for yachts of up to approximately 125 ft.
Production of carbon fibre masts has become a Nordic Mast specialty, attaching great importance to details and customer requirements. The integrated components of this mast are all made of carbon fibre, providing optimal strength, weight, and corrosion resistance.
The benefits of a carbon fibre mast are manifold; in addition to the balance between strength and weight the life of a carbon fibre mast is basically infinite. This overcomes the traditional problems of aluminium masts in terms of oxidation and metal fatigue, which will not occur with carbon fibre.

Class rules will usually define whether spinnaker poles in carbon fibre may be used. Carbon fibre poles are typically used on every size boats as they are far easier to handle and offer amazing strenghts for weight advantages.
All spinnaker poles are available painted to our customer's colour specification.
Carbon fibre spinnaker poles are available as standard in "raw" carbon fibre, clear coated, or painted. Carbon fibre poles are now available with the logo and name of the boat, as well as other information, cast in the laminate. This is an added advantage as this branding is a preventive measure against theft of the pole.

Forespar® has perfected the art of manufacturing carbon fiber equipment not only for the blue water yachts and racers but now for the recreational sailor as well. We have manufactured standard composite poles for over 10 years. We made our first carbon fiber mast in 1979, ten years before anyone else in the U.S.
Forespar® is the world leader in standard composite whisker poles, spinnaker poles and reaching struts. Standard sizing is 2" - 6". Spinnaker poles are offered in double tapered as well as parallel configurations. In addition, we custom design and make poles of bow spirits specifically sized for the head sail of your choice; code zeros, asymmetrical chutes, spinnakers or roller furling genoas.
Typically a composite spinnaker pole will be 40% lighter than a similar aluminum pole yet almost 50% stiffer. Fixed length whisker poles and bow spirits are 50% lighter.
All Forespar® poles are manufactured in eh U.S.A. and assembled in our California plant by professional riggers. HIGH MODULUS ENGINEERING, the premier composite design firm for the 2003 America's Cup racing, is our partner in design and brings to the Forespar® design efforts the wealth of composite engineering learned during this year's cup races.

Extruded aluminium is an excellent material for making masts. This is where Selden has earned its reputation as world leader in mast making. Today Selden offers a full range of masts and rig equipment in both aluminium and carbon including booms, spinnaker poles, Rodkicker rigid vangs, furling systems and rig linings. All rigs are custom-made, through every calculation and detail, lor each individual boat. We know how much depends on the rig, and there is no room for compromise.
|
|
It's no coincidence that carbon fibre is used in aeroplanes. Carbon composite combines stiffness and strength with low weight. Selden low-weight carbon spars have accentuated longitudinal stiffness. This means that forestay tension can be substantially increased. All experienced racing sailors know what this means in terms of increased performance. The combination of greater stiffness and reduced weight will bring you beyond the speed limits.
|
|
Selden aluminium spinnaker poles give you fast and safe spinnaker handling. All the fittings have well-rounded edges to prevent personal injury and damage to equipment. The extrusions are lightweight and very durable, and are fitted with pole savers to shield the pole against damage from forestay and shrouds.
|
|
Selden booms have a wealth of sophisticated features and can be equipped with a variety of reefing systems to suit different boats and the needs of different sailors. The booms can be fitted for traditional slab reefing or Single Line Reef, or be used for furling masts. The boom extrusions are relatively deep in relation to their width, allowing a lighter extrusion with high resistance to vertical bending. This makes them perfect for use with modern, stiff sailcloth and efficient Rodkicker rigid vangs.

Seldén is introducing a new gennaker bow sprit for deck assembly.
Basically, you fit two pad-eyes on deck in-line with a bow bracket. The bow bracket is a stainless ring with a polyamide (PA) inner lining through which you slide the bow sprit to active position. When you’re done with the gennaker, slide the bow sprit back and secure it to the aft pad-eye. The inboard end features a spring loaded plunger for easy attachment to the pad-eye.
The gennaker tackline is preferably pulled through the bow sprit. The line enters a well rounded hole in the outboard end and comes out through the inboard end.
Three different bow brackets will be available for various modes of installation.
