The design of a potential successor to the outstanding Oyster 45, which in turn replaced the hugely successful Oyster 435 was always going to present a big challenge to Rob Humphreys and the Oyster Design Team.
Improving the excellent Oyster 45 was a daunting task. It is a relatively high volume yacht offering outstanding accommodation for its overall length but still managing to combine outstanding sea-keeping qualities with a good turn of speed. It was agreed at a very early stage that any replacement would need to be better than the outgoing model in every respect - performance, stability, comfort, accommodation and styling.
After months of working on a prototype, optimization through advanced three-dimensional modelling techniques and the use of advanced design and visualization tools, the Oyster Design Team felt they would be able to achieve their target. A significantly faster, more stable hull form was created, allowing a voluminous accommodation layout, spacious load carrying topped with a sleeker deck and superstructure - the new Oyster 46 was born.

The exceptional sailing performance of the Dehler 47, along with the superb interior and layout of the Dehler 47 meant it beat off stiff competition from many other manufacturers to win the "European Yacht of the Year 2003" during the Dsseldorf boat show.
Also praised were the truly innovative details found on the Dehler 47; The tender can be stowed away in space created by the transom flap, which also doubles as an extended boarding platform.
The cabriolet system allows the sprayhood to be fully concealed when folded away and there is even an option to have the anchor retract into the bow-locker hydraulically, leaving a completely open bow area.
Below decks the Dehler 47 is in a class of her own. The high quality cherry wood interior, rounded style cupboards, well appointed galley and large luxurious saloon are naturally outstanding. There are even two luxuriously equipped heads, one with a separate enclosed shower area.
The Dehler 47 represents the pinnacle of all that is Dehler, and you can be proud in the knowledge that there is no other boat out there quite like her.

The Dehler 47, which won the European Boat of the Year award in Dsseldorf in 2003 and the Yachts of the Year award in 2005 in the US as well as many prestigious regattas, will remain in Dehlers product program.
With the Dehler 47SQ, Dehler is addressing itself towards those clients who just want the best yacht available in the market place.
Improvements on the High-Tech Dehler 47SQ can be categorized in three main aspects:
Speed : The Hull is produced in vinylester resin, which saves around 500 kg of weight.
Exterior Layout: Dehler developed a complete new ultra sleek designed deck layout with only flush-hatches from Rondal, Nomen folding cleats, Lopolight LED navigation lights etc.
Interior Layout: More flexibility, more comfort, more quality, more design focused details and more luxury. The Dehler 47SQ has several layout possibilities
A fantastic yacht which again proofs that Dehler is ahead of competition and leading in innovation as well as sailing characteristics, this with support of their first class suppliers.

The Waterline 46 is our most popular model. Many versions of this boat are sailing the world's oceans, including a number of circumnavigators. This size is perfect for carrying all the amenities with you in comfort. All-around visibility from inside the raised aft house is a feature. The variations of the interior can easily accommodate a raised salon.
The 46 is an excellent performer in all conditions. Under sail, the balanced rudder on a partial skeg effectively reduces autopilot work and enhances the joy of steering for the crew. The proven Leisurefurl main in-boom furling system is controlled by an electric winch in the cockpit and all other control lines are led aft for safe sail handling.
