No other sailmaker knows how to develop winning one-design sails the way we do. Our speed-testing and competition-proven approach to sail development results in sails that are fast in straight-line sailing and easy to use on the racecourse (you can concentrate on racing, instead of adjusting your sails).
Bill's cruising sails are designed to achieve the same performance as our racing sails. Each sail is durable, easy to handle and designed for maximum performance over a wide wind range. Whether your goal is to lengthen your daily mileage or to sail around the world, Bill designs quality sails to achieve your goal.
Bill's sails are constructed from high-quality materials. The newest materials combine exceptional warp strength, bias stability and a soft edge with excellent chafe resistance for durability, stability and ease of handling. You may choose between the ultimate durability of our warp-oriented woven Dacrons or the more performance-oriented biaxial Dacron laminates.
In the latest years material technology and regatta sail design have been evolving as never before. Olimpic Sails is an independent company, free to choose the most recent materials and the brand new technologies, without any bound and without following any group strategy. The materials/fabric most commonly used in the production of regatta sails are: Pentex, Kevlar and carbon Kevlar.
In addition to radial sails, still in great demand, we are at the moment introducing new technologies such as Maxx Contender (multi axial fabric) and membranes, "custom" assembled according to our own design.
