Designed to reef or furl your mainsail, the PROFURL in-boom system provides safe reefing for your mainsail from the cockpit. The main halyard and the reefing line can also be operated from the cockpit.
Hoisting the mainsail is made easy: just turn the boat into the wind, release the furling line and pull on the halyard.
Reefing or furling is just as easy: simply control the tension on the halyard and pull the furling line.
Thanks to a number of patented design features, controlling your mainsail is a smooth operation.

A Seldén furling mast lets you operate your mainsail from the cockpit, simply ans easily. Its unique features for reducing friction and initial sail resistance make furling and reefing child's play. And it also makes sailing safer and far easier for you and your crew.

Schaefer Marine's Boom Furling System is the result of years of research, design and sailing. Proven over thousands of miles of use, our unique Patented Articulating Sail Track enables you to reef or furl on any point of sail all from the safety of the cockpit.
It is the most advanced solution for mainsail reefing and furling. The unique Sail Track and feeder combine to precisely transfer any full battened main to the mandrel located within the boom - without snags or jams - and with battens perfectly aligned.
Equally significant, reefing is easily and safely accomplished by one person on any point of sail - without changing course, heading up into the wind or leaving the cockpit.
Boom furling has always been a great idea. It took Schaefer engineering to make it a flawless one.

Hand operated SPARCRAFT furling masts use exclusively furling systems equipped with endless screws. This system is the only one allowing for a safe guidance of the furling control while avoiding overfurling, and also it is the only one which may be operated by a single person ( two hands control).
The sections range from 4,9 kg/ml to 17,6 kg/ml and are a perfect alternative to the traditional SPARCRAFT profiles. It is now possible to offer to the yards, professionals or private customers, either a furling or a traditional mast with the same mast base reference and the same running and standing riggings.

All Sparcraft boom sections are available for furling masts. Outhaul cars are mounted in or on top using tracks.

The Vertical Batten Mainsail offers additional sail area for in mast furling and Vektron™ offers the very best of woven sail cloth stability through the use of liquid crystal Vectranâ fibres.
The Vertical Batten Mainsail system and Hood patented Vektron™ sailcloth puts high performance back into the furling mainsail. The additional sail area on the roach makes the mainsail up to 20% larger than a hollow leech in-mast furling mainsail, thereby optimising the overall aerodynamics. Another key feature are its round vertical linked carbon and vinylester resin full length battens, which are linked together with varying stiffness, designed especially for the furling function. The benefit extends to the maintained boat speed through improved aerodynamics and more controllable sail shape through reefing. This unique furling mainsail will point higher and perform with increased boat speed off wind and provide an improved reefing technique.

It is the ideal cut for the sails of the boats of less than 45 '. 4 zones of orientation of the panels adapt to the diagram of the efforts and the constraints. This definition allows the use of the decreasing grammages in sandwich. All the parameters like the twist, exit and angles of attack, and volumes are controlled.
|
|
This horizontal cut is highly reliable. She is proposed since many years and always gave satisfaction. The use of fabrics with wire high tenacity makes it possible to ensure a better longevity and a better control of the veil.

Sold separately or with a furler, this new patented system from Karver allows to lock the stay and the sail on the mast very easily. From 1,5T to 15T
|
|
The KF-H (patented) is the only system on the market that combines the furling and the locking mechanism in the same unit.
The lock mechanism allows to lock the swivel, the halyard and the sail directly onto the mast.
The lock works automatically using the halyard to lock and to unlock.
Used for flying sails (such as staysails and gennakers) it replaces the usual block system where luff tension comes from the long 2/1 or 3/1 halyard and a lot of compression in the mast.
The system and the sail are locked on the mast and the luff is tensioned from the bottom by a 2/1 or 3/1 purchase placed under the lower part of the furler.
The compression in the mast is minimized and it is possible to use a smaller and lighter halyard as it only carries the weight of the sail.
Once the system is dropped on deck, there is only the very light hollowed male end remaining on the mast and the furling-lock mechanism is on deck and accessible for maintenance.
EXCLUSIVE ADVANTAGES OF THE K-FH
-no more structural halyard
-no more blocks above the swivel
-less compression in mast = safer
-smaller halyard diameter = lighter
-straighter sail luff
-very light weight at the top of the mast when system is not in use.
