Accurate distance to the bottom!
The Simrad PI Catch Monitoring systems can be used with a variety of sensors. All these sensors can be placed on your trawl or purse seine to monitor key parameters. The design of the sensors is extremely rugged, and they are built to withstand all the beating and battering they are subjected to on a trawl or purse seine.
|
|
Check for damages!
With patented technology and awardwinning design, Simrad allows you to monitor if your net is damaged. The Rip sensor is identical to the Catch sensor, and can thus be regarded as a second application for the Catch sensor.

Check the doors on a twin trawl!
Used on bottom and pelagic twin trawls the Twin Spread and Remote sensors provide crucial information about your trawl behaviour. The three sensors working together tell you the exact distance between the two trawl doors.
|
|
This is your “eye” at the cod-end. With PI Catch sensors in use, you can easily monitor the filling rate and the amount of catch in the trawl. Save time and fuel, haul in the trawl at the right moment! The design is rugged and awardwinning, and the sensor’s sensitivity is easily adjusted for trawls of all sizes.
Some professionals claim that the Catch sensor is the most important sensor on the trawl. Why? Because it will tell you the amount of catch in the trawl.
|
|
Best at the bottom!
With patented technology and awardwinning design, Simrad provides you full control of the actions that take place at the bottom. Mounted on a bottom trawl, pelagic trawl or purse seine, this sensor will provide the important information when you need it!

How deep can you go?
When the sonar and echo sounder tell you how deep the school goes, it is good to know that you can place your fishing gear at the same depth. And even better, you can monitor and hold the desired depth. The design is rugged and awardwinning, and the sensor is available for three different depth ranges.
|
|
Fishing in too warm or too cold water may be just a waste of time and money. The same applies to a pelagic trawl placed on the wrong side of a thermal layer. Using advanced technology, rugged construction and awardwinning design, the PI Temperature sensor allows you to increase your fishing efficiency.

|
Check the trawl doors!
Used on bottom and pelagic trawls the Spread and Remote sensors provide crucial information about your trawl behaviour. This dynamic duo tells you the exact distance between the trawl doors.

Trawl sonar for efficient monitoring of the net opening and the fishing conditions. Simrad's new trawl sonar platform combines "the best of two worlds". It communicates with the vessel by means of a third wire system, and with wireless sensors mounted on the trawl by means of hydroacoustic links. The new Simrad FS70 Trawl sonar provides the "full picture".

The Trawlmaster provides a complete net monitoring solution to twin rig trawlers. Small robust sensors attached to the trawl gear relay information wirelessly to shipboard equipment.
For a twin rigger, the Trawlmaster monitors:
Doorspread on EACH net
Trawl wire lengths
Middle wire adjustment for the clump
Temperature, depth, catch, door angle, etc
|
|
The Trawlmaster provides a complete net monitoring solution to single rig trawlers. Small robust sensors attached to the trawl gear relay information wirelessly to shipboard equipment.
Approximatlely 500 Notus net monitoring systems have been delivered.
The Trawlmaster allows you to fine tune your trawl and save fuel by monitoring:
Doorspread
Trawl wire lengths
Headline height
Temperture
Depth
Catch
Door Angle

The Actisense Active Depth/Speed/Temperature module is the best solution for interfacing standard analogue transducers and NMEA 0183 compatible chart plotters, radars, and on-board laptop PC's.
Designed for use with most existing analogue transducers already fitted to a vessel, or new analogue transducers. Our industry proven depth sounder algorithm has the best-in-class seabed tracking, and when in conjunction with a good quality depth transducer, can track the seabed down to 0.3m or 1 foot (proven with Airmar transducers).
100W peak depth power enables a maximum depth range of 200m or 660 feet under optimum conditions (proven with Airmar transducers). 150 KHz & 200 KHz depth transducer frequencies are available to match most existing transducers. For enhanced interference rejection (from other sounders), a 235 KHz capable module is also available.
Log transducer and temperature thermistor interfaces allow additional data to be provided over the NMEA data stream, giving a cable saving. Easy reprogramming of the DST module's software is possible, to include the very latest software enhancements or customisations.
The DST module's data interface is configured for NMEA 0183, but can operate as a fully bi-directional RS485 interface for customised applications, such as an on-board multiple depth sounder network.

- ROWIND is a new generation wind sensor without moving parts, which provides the followingsignals on a standard serial port: wind velocity in m/sec or knots, relative direction in degreesand the temperature in degrees Celsius, (atmospheric pressure in optional)
- The wind sensor can directly be connected to a PC or can be read by equipment with astandard NMEA183 input.

The Log Transducer measures boat speed, distance, water temperature. The unique paddle wheel construction provides very accurate data. Retractable through-hull transducer for easy cleaning of paddlewheel. Dummy plug included.
The Log transducer is available in two sizes, 43 mm and 52 mm diameter. The 52 mm transducer has a built-in lock valve to prevent water leakage when cleaning the paddel wheel.

|
Ultrasonic Speed Sensor
The ultrasonic speed sensor makes cutting edge, high technology speed sensing affordable. Instead of a paddlewheel, it uses two transducers mounted in one compact housing to detect particles in the water and calculates speed based on their distance apart. The transducer reacts instantaneously to changes in boat speed.

Wireless Wind transducer including WSI-box. The twin-fin wireless wind transducer brings all the advantages of wireless instrumentation to the cruising sailor. Gone are the complications and aesthetic issues of running wiring from the top of the mast down to the chart table. Instead, the wind transducer establishes a unique pairing using radio with the WSI connection box that forms the core of the NX instrumentation system, ensuring that each transducer / server pairing is distinct from every other. The information is then fed from the WSI connection box to both the NX Sea Data and Wind Instrument.
The twin fin design makes this a highly stable and accurate wind transducer. The internal batteries are continuously charged by a small solar panel mounted on the transducer arm, have a life of around three to four years, and are easily replaced.
