The 3490 Flybridge offers a dual control design with a lower main control station and a flybridge station with seating for four. The mission of this boat is flexibility. It combines the advantages of an all-weather, enclosed operation like the 3480 with the excellent visibility offered by an elevated command station. The flybridge helm and controls are positioned slightly aft so captains can easily see the fishing activities on the aft deck.

The boat actually rides on 4 planning surfaces which reduce in size as the boats' speed increases and the boat rises higher out of the water. This results in a boat that has a stable, level ride, and an increased efficiency of 20 -25% over a conventional hull form, be it catamaran or mono-hull. The boat will be available as an Open Sports model, a Sport Sedan model, or with a Cabin and Flybridge. The Sports model will have full walk-around decks and a large rear deck especially suited to fishing, diving and watersports, it can also be equipped with cool-boxes and cooking facilities.

For simplicity of maintenance and operation the boat is powered by outboard motors, using two motors and counter-rotating propellers (other engine configurations are also available). Stainless steel propellers are highly recommended for higher performance and come as standard with the larger size Suzuki engines. Current planning is to use the fuel efficient DF 250 hp. four stroke engines. Suzuki are releasing a new 300 Hp model shortly.
